2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

Back To Mine - EBTG
Quality James.
Do it Now - Dubtribe Sound System an absolutely fantastic record is on this compilation
Moby - Play.
This contained more "earworms" than I'd have thought possible from a single album......... and it's still sounding great this sunny afternoon.
Groundbreaking stuff.
DrMark posted:Yet another $5 Big Lots purchase - evocative of my youth when my parents listened to adult contemporary radio. It is a hits collection culled form his 2012 tour, which the album cover does not mention, but Glen is in fine voice and the arrangements are tight and very close to the studio recordings. Hard to believe that now just 5 years later at age 80 he is in the final stages of Alzheimer's care with the end apparently close at hand.
He walked the fine line between country and pop about as well as anyone.
CORRECTION: this CD was released in 2012, the recordings are circa 1991. Can't be posting bad info on the Forum!
And yes, he was quite an accomplished session guitarist before "making it big".
And now for something completely different...
16/44 WAV 1st play.
Haven't played this excellent recording in a while. You really know your system is well sorted when it holds the music together on this.

On CD
Somehow, this music sounds at it's best at the end of a sunny afternoon.

Delighted and relieved that you like it and agree about the SQ, its good to get confirmation that the old lugs are not totally deceiving me yet!! Astonishing value too about £6.50 (delivered) for 8 albums! I'm going to have a nosey around for some other Real Gone Music remastered box sets I think I saw some at the time I was buying this one...
Muddy Waters - The Chess Singles Collection.
Here's another one for you Steve .............. picked this one up whilst browsing, as you do.
It's not from Real Gone, but again the SQ is very good, even though I've already got most of the tracks.
At 7 squid for the three CD boxset on The River? ................. bargain!
On Wednesday night I saw Mr Gottsching perform this seminal piece of electronica (alomg with two hours of Ash Ra Tempel stuff) and it was one opf the best concets I have been to in a very long time. And that is why I am listening to this CD:
16/44 WAV. EXCELLENT imo

I had tickets for this and was so looking forward to it. But then last weekend my back went kaput and has stayed that way, so I had to get refunds. Still hurts (both ways).
A Musical & Sonic Delight.

T-Bone Walker - T-Bone Blues.
Excellent T-Bone album, recorded over a two year period, the sessions split between LA and Chicago.
Oh, and something of a bargain over on The River at the mo'.

Sorry to hear that Gary, it was an absolute stunner of a concert. Hope your back gets better soon...
Just the thing to play on this gorgeous spring day. I've not really warmed to a Sea Of Honey (must give it another go) but i just love the journey this disc takes you on.
Kate Bush - Aerial (A Sky Of Honey)
16/44 WAV. Earlier post prompted this.
John Lee Hooker - House of the Blues.
Signing off with a bit of JLH ........... this one's a classic from him.
A + 3 | WAV
(2011)
After a day of glorious warm sunny weather and a whole heap of jobs completed and brownie points accumulated, this one fell out of my lucky spin in the library.
