Muddy Waters - The Chess Singles Collection.

Here's another one for you Steve .............. picked this one up whilst browsing, as you do.

It's not from Real Gone, but again the SQ is very good, even though I've already got most of the tracks.

At 7 squid for the three CD boxset on The River? ................. bargain!

Thanks Dave, if you say its got very good SQ thats good enough for me. I'm currently sticking a few Real Gone box sets in my virtual trolley so I'll add this one before I eventually pull the trigger.

A day shopping in Newcastle, led to the following purchases (now being played) as his albums on vinyl have been hard to come by. Although at £30 each, it's verging on a bit of a rip off!

While I love most of Genesis' albums, especially the early ones, A Trick of the Tail has always been my favourite. As soon as I hear those first bars from the first track, I'm captured and I luxuriate in it right to the end.

Somehow, this music sounds at it's best at the end of a sunny afternoon.

Oh this is a spectacular album. I can't recall who said it or where I might have read it, but someone said that you can imagine the big open plains of the Mid-West when listening to this album. It's a great album to sip a Pimms and Lemonade to on a long hot summer's evening.

My favourite of theirs too Mike and not purely down to the music. It was a late night drive on a glorious warm summer night in '76 from Barcelona down the coast road to Sotogrande in an open top Triumph TR6 with Genesis on almost continuous loop in the cassette deck. Bliss.

Following Mike's lead on this one. My last for tonight.

Nice story, Steve. I can well understand how such a lovely experience stays fresh in the memory.  They say that our sense of smell is the most powerful for triggering memories but I think music is pretty powerful too - hear some songs and you can be instantly transported back to an occasion in the past.
