2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Gary Clark Jr. - Live / North America 2016.
If you thought the first live album was good, then this one is good +++
Finally made it through the letterbox this afternoon, well worth the wait.

The trouble with Beethoven is that it's just not possible to allow it to play as 'background music'. You have to listen, especially when the playing and recording are as good as in this production from the Takacs Quartet.
Just saw the complete set on offer in 24/48 on Prostudio master, contemplating to buy....
If the price is right, then don't hesitate. It is very good. However, the Busch series are available on CD for just £2.99 each currently and, notwithstanding the age of the recordings, they are something very special indeed.
I have some already, the Busch, the Tokyo, the Belcea, Emerson, Italians......I would regard this as an interesting extension...
Pink Floyd - Devi\ation (Blu-Ray)
OK, so it's over two hours and I'll admit to being a little over-Atom Heart Mothered (much as I love it). But there's a great deal to like here, especially the Blackhill sequence, filmed with one black and white camera with ropey sound but the power of the whole group/brass/chorus thing really works when they come together (they don't always). You can't help but smile though as everyone is squished together - the choir don't have enough sheet music, they clearly look a bit nonplussed at all the baa-baa-baaing etc. but (mostly - there's a gent who obviously thinks it's all a bit bonkers) they give it loads.

Gary Clark Jr. - Live.
After my last one, it would seem churlish not to sign off for the evening with this.
Gary really is at his best live ....................... and LOUD!
Bowie and Ziggy, because it's brilliant and I saw it on Tidal masters. MQA/Tidal via Audirvana/Hugo, and I still think that the cover of Clutching at Straws is based on this cover

I listened to the second and the fifth that day - I already owned it but the more I read here the more it seems that in classical music, you are buying the conductor as well as the orchestra, since based on my understanding the conductor is the artist, and the orchestra his instrument. As an observation, I had just noticed that LB seems to engender strong feelings both pro and con, in a way I do not see with other conductors. (Admittedly as a more casual observer.)
On CD:-
First run, sounds good so far.
from the great Bach/Suzuki series on BIS...
'Avalanche is the second studio album by Danish soul pop duo Quadron released in 2013. Quadron attraction largely boils down to singer Coco O’s elastic voice, sometimes chirpy and sometimes soulful, channeling the jazzy effortlessness of Amy Winehouse circa Frank'.
Definitely worth a listen...Vinyl
