2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Elvis Costello & The Imposters - The Delivery Man
I've finished his autobiography recently and I wanted to hear his oft mentioned Country Darkness again.

I have suddenly felt old .....
Wild Wood was released in September 1993 - which was actually quite a long time ago !!
Not played this in a while. Can't think why. This is a fantastic album

Recommended for me unknown music. Beautiful lyrical music which is well executed by Kremer and his companions.

dav301,
Are you in the UK? I wonder what UK listeners think of the Capitol Records bastardization of the Beatles' early albums (combining singles and album tracks into multiple-publishable units) and their Dexterization (reverb and echo added to copies of the original master tapes). Wasn't until I started paying a premium for imported UK LPs that I discovered the immediacy and cohesion of the Beatles' early albums. No wonder The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl announced tracks from both A Hard Day's Night and Help! as "something from our latest album".
I am in the UK. This version is from the USA box set which uses the UK versions without the reverb and echo. Having been brought up on the UK versions the Capital versions just didn't sound right.
Tested this, very good will buy...
Modern trio who first emerged in Bandcamp....
Time for a bit of Ms Oliveros' "deep listening" on CD:
I discovered this album when I was browsing the Bandcamp site. I had never heard of the band before. It's very enjoyable modern jazz music (piano - sax - bass - drums). If you like Joshua Redman for instance, you might also like this.
The new remaster of Tango In The Night.
Playing the Vinyl.
Also has 4 CDs of Album, Demos, 24/96 Master, 12' versions and some Videos.
Absolutely marvelous on a sunny spring Saturday.
Straddles The Jam/Style Council with a bit of Curtis Mayfield for good measure.
Nice.

Sounds good, reminds me of Talking Loud acts, like K-Creative from the early 90's
Gave it another turn, so yes I am fan and will have to have it...., for others it's an average album....
The Whitest Boy Alive - Rules
Springtime funk with choppy guitars.

The 2nd part of the album is better than the 1st part...
Time for classic jazz. Starting with Lee Morgan.
Listened to this before, some good examples some bad, so kind of a mixed bag for me...
A great recording with modern jazz...

would you believe my first time listening to this album? I've heard songs from it but never the entire album.
Jon, if you hadn't misspelled the album title (Rumours), no, I wouldn't believe you
It was the third best-selling album of the 1970s, behind The Wall and LZ IV, but maybe you weren't born yet?
So what'd you think?
Lol. Can't hide my lack of knowledge.
I didn't know that. That actually kind of shocks me. I was born late '74. Never really considered FM rock music so I never gave them a chance. Like I said I've heard a few songs from the radio that still get played on classic rock stations. The last year or so I've become a big fan of Peter Green's FM and still like that version of the band more. That being said it is a good album and an easy listen. I will give it a few more plays and try to become more familiar with it.
Recently got tickets for U2 at Twickenham - the Joshua Tree Tour
With a great rhythm base....
recorded live in 2006 to DSD on a two-layer SACD. Great performance/sound!
