2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Really contempory Dub reworkings with Deadbeat at the helm. Still pretty chilled considering. Best turned right down, with headphones or out in a large farm with thousands of others turned up very loud.
Amp fiddler... what a fantastic name for an artist from Detroit....of course straight through jazz blue juice with spice.
I always seem to return to this set...hard to beat in a crowded field. Sounding great on my recently serviced Nait 2!

Jack Johnson - Sleep Through The Static
Because I haven't listened to this for ages. So enjoyable.
Another great Harvey Mandel album 'Shangrenade' from 1973) ..Blues rock with funk and jazz rock fusion elements. In the mold of Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, and Mike Bloomfield...
Original Vinyl.
First run, enjoying it.

Do try her other albums if you haven't heard them yet, they are all good IMO.
Fink - Hard Believer.
Flavour of the month chez Dave, so I've been investigating his back catalogue ................ lazy, electronically layered, bluesy choons .......... what's not to like?

These boys albums are never far from reach and this one is getting a loud outing.
This lunchtime I got my 72/180/Hi-Cap back from Salisbury after a complete service and recap. Have been listening to CDs all afternoon to warm the gear up before switching to vinyl:
More CDs to burn in the capped amps (see above):

All over the shop with my genres this evening but fancied a bit of a listen to some excellent psychedelic trance.
Z Z Top - One Foot in the Blues.
Scuzzy Texas blues from the Tops.
Was trying to keep up, Steve, but you're all over the place this evening ............... doh, now I've done it too!

Another super album from them, mind you I like everything they have done. Sorry to have gone off piste so early...

Field Music - Commontime.
A most excellent album from a most excellent band.
Saw them locally last year, stunningly good live.
On CD (it's a 1960s Francoise Hardy release, BTW). Must get it on vinyl sometime (apparently the Light In The Attic reissue is excellent):
Tonbruket - Nubium Swimtrip
No justification required.

Harry Manx - Wise and Otherwise.
I am unfamiliar with this gentleman so thanks to Stevee for introducing him and thanks to Ewemon for suggesting this particular album as a starting place.
A wonderful musician and a pretty good singer, I am impressed. This album shows off HM's abilities with a number of instruments and has a few musical influences throughout but mostly underpinned by a blues vibe. Very interesting and very original.
This is on Tidal and I would recommend a listen.
Some good 'bob' jazz from Luis Perdomo.
Whats 'bob' jazz? I'm intrigued.
You wouldn't think that saxophones, a bit of clarinet and some electronics would be very interesting, but they are.
