2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Bach also composed some beautiful music for the lute.
Stephan Schmidt performs them very well.
Not played this for donkeys years. Brian Eno 'Before and After Science' his the fifth studio album. Side 2 begins to hint of Eno's move into avant-garde and ambient music.
Originally vinyl released in December 1977. The first pressings of the album included four offset prints by Peter Schmidt which I still have framed.
Original UK vinyl. Anyone remember that cover image? A poster version of it seemed to be on every bedroom/living wall in the mid/1980s!

Although, G, his move into the ambient/avant-garde field had begun two years previously, with the release of Discreet Music...
Hope you and yours are well.

Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel 3 (Melt).
Peter's "So" album seems to be the popular choice on here, but this is even betterer .......... IMHO, of course.
Very good album, I hope these guys will soon publish a full record....., I will blind buy that....from Bandcamp
1st run...
Kasabian - 48:13.
Saw these on Jools Holland t' other night, and was quite impressed.

Albedo 0.39 was the first non-classical LP I bought. The best of Vangelis' output IMO.

I'm quite a fan of Kasabian. Great fun, don't take themselves too seriously and are almost touching on 'Spinal Tap' with some of their stuff! 48:13 a cracking album, but I think West Ryder Lunatic Asylum edges it. New album out soon too...

I see what you mean, regarding the Spinal Tap thing. Hints of Primal Scream there too, I feel.
This just arrived today, so, playing now.
Kasabian - Kasabian.
Their debut album, I believe, and at 1p a pop, smashing!
From Juno, FLAC.
First Gregory Porter - Take Me To The Alley
...now Van Morrison - Days Like This
Why? Well you can't have too much Van, not in chez NigelB anyway!
The Brenda Lee Story - Her Greatest Hits
Little Miss Dynamite, because of her eponymous hit "Dynamite" and her diminutive size, had an amazing voice. If you remember the late 50s and early 60s you will remember Brenda Lee. She sang rockabilly, pop and country music, and had 47 US chart hits during the 1960s, and is ranked fourth in that decade surpassed only by Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Ray Charles. She was one of the first international pop stars.
I bought the vinyl recently for £4.99 and it's been cleaned up nicely by my Loricraft PRC4. It's available on CD now at £32.67! Here is the track list.
