2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

1st run, so far promising....
While this is not an ECM album, it could be - so for those loving ECM and it's sound give it a try. Already for quite some years this trio is creating some tastefull art jazz, or so called chamber jazz....
A double CD from the box set. Currently playing the 1976 show. Superb sound from just after the 'L' album was released. There are numerous live discs from this classic period. The SQ here is BBC recording at its best I'd say. I can remember recording many of the Radio 1 In Concert shows and John Peel sessions on cassette. Sadly, I think I must have taped over most of them.
Good sounding album..

Just returned from AXPONA. Heard today enough guitars and drums to last me for a lifetime. HH, thanks for the recommendation.
Jackson Browne. Lawyers In Love. On vinyl from 1983. On its release I remember thinking that Jackson had sold his artistic side for commerciality. Over time I recognize this album more as an evolutionary step in JB's extensive catalog and it plays better for me with time under its belt.
Jimmy Buffett. Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. Original vinyl from 1977. Always an engaging listen that ticks all the boxes for me - artistry, SQ, production, musicality, and musicianship. Easy to get lost in late on a Friday night after a very long Friday day.
1st run, transparent sound...
The Bad Plus - For All I Care
A gimlet-eyed start, before work.
C.
Janine Jansen - Four seasons
This is a very nice execution of Vivaldi's four seasons. In this version only eight instruments are used (2 violins, viola, cello, double bass, box organ, theorbo and harpsichord) which gives it a bit of chamber music atmosphere.
Unusual but effective combination of trumpet, guitar and drums...
First run. Sounds promising
This is Craig Taborn (piano player) in a quartet setting. He is accompanied by the bass player and drummer of the Bad Plus.
The reed player is an unknown musician for me.
So much beautiful music to listen to...with coffee!!
A very fine performance, while I still prefer the more emotional performance of the piece by Nigel Kennedy...
I've owned this album a long time.Ive not really heard it until now. Since having my 500 DR upgrade done i really get why this artist is wonderful. It's always been great its just the DR really squeezes every ounce of music.
Thursday, Friday....today is Music day for Dusty!!

Thanks for the reminder, will have to dig out my vinyl copy for a play.
A + 3 | WAV
(1979 | 2004)
I have twenty odd CDs to rip (including four box sets) so this fine sounding Dan Hersch remaster is keeping me company for a while.
Rather clever re-imagining of many pieces by an uber cool selection of artists as if played on Resistance Radio in TMITHC.
Very well done, some stellar tracks, though an hour of melancholy as if under the Nazi yoke does border on depressing!
A Lynyrd Skynyrd greatest hits album that's underrated imho,
pre-owned copies on Amazon are presently a bargain : )
