The The - We Can't Stop What's Coming
Headed out this morning to a local shop for Record Store Day 2017. Bought a couple of other items but this was the one I was looking for. First new song by The The for around 15 years, a tribute to Matt Johnson's late brother, Andrew.
Johnny Marr on guitar plus other former band members back on board, sounding very good. There is an interview with Matt Johnson on BBC 6Music with Steve Lamacq earlier this week for anyone who is interested.
Ridiculously bombastic in places but a great listen every now and again.

Sometimes when I'm unsure what to play and don't want to do the virtual blindfolded lucky dip into the virtual library, I'll just stick the Ozrics on.
Tonight is jazz guitar night. Starting with Russell Malone.

Stephane Pompougnac - Hotel Costes Vol.1, on vinyl

Image pinched off Amazon for you, Andy : )
It's probably quite tranquil in Hotel Costes for those who can afford it! : D
Would be great if the SQ of these 1973-1976 recordings was just a bit sharper but musically [a bit like Jimi Hendrix style] its really quite good and very pleasant to let jam along in the background...
Tidal FLAC 44.1KHz. I love some of the songs on this, I'm one of those people who always has music playing in their head, and Watching the Wheels has been on that soundtrack regularly since 1980. I was wondering why I had never bought the album, given that there are at least 3 songs I'd expect to own. So I have tried it on Tidal, now I remember why. It's 2 short half-albums one half are Lennon songs, and Lennon's a songwriter who has meant a lot to me through my life. The others are Yoko songs, and I've never "got" Yoko. Apologies to any Yoko fans, but her tracks on this feel to me like bad late-60s radical experimental stuff done a decade too late, and certainly on vinyl I would not have been able to face popping up to lift the arm every other song.
I listened through, next time I'll skip the Yoko numbers.
Handel, Purcell, Monteverdi, etc.
Four composers not often recorded, all from around 1750.
