My favourite singer!
I was lucky to pick this up cheaply as part of the Atlantic Collection box set:

Presently enjoying number 5 in E flat major : )
Debs

excellent Schubert recital from Bonney/Parsons...

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) | Franz Schubert (1797-1828): Benjamin Moser (piano)
Sonate for Klavier No. 32 in c-minor, Op. 111 | Sonate for Klavier No. 21 in B-flat major D.960
The Last Sonatas...
Quite a different meaning than any composer's first Sonatas! Or your first breath? Here, you anticipate what is to come. There is excitement and energy of what is to come.
Certainly a different tone compared to the last of anything; last walk; last book read, last dance; last meal;....last breath.
I don't know really whether Beethoven or Schubert really knew which works would be their last but in all their last works there are countless clues in the music and symbolic nods to what lay ahead. It is like reading their diary and them sharing poignant details of their lives with us. Well, this is true of even the first works through to the last but the tone changes. I think the best composers confided with us through their music. This is why we like some composers (or artists) more than others as we tend to find companions who are either like us or have something we don't have but want.

Must be played VERY LOUDLY ![]()

Doesn't look like much of an outlaw to me.
I think he's one of the nouveau (L.A.) outlaws.
This ones pretty good also (Ry Cooder plays on most tracks)

Barry Harris Quintet.

This man is an absolute genius. Dusty sure listening to new genres these days....who knows....Jazz next!!!!

I heard this many years ago on a B&O system driving Sonus Faber loudspeakers and it sounded mighty fine indeed. Now enjoying it on an all Naim Audio set up. Superb demo quality sound showing off a great voice.

JS, JC, WF & CPE Bach - recorded in '57 and '60. Philadelphia strings...wow! Below cover is from the original LP produced by the great Thomas Frost. I'm listening to the remastered CD engineered by Andreas Meyer and Bejun Mehta in '96 as part of Sony's Masterworks Heritage Series.

Bob Marley & ThecWailers-Babylon by Bus
Another example of a Giant in Jazz from a long time ago.

Mostly Radio Paradise (may they live long and prosper!) and artists I first heard there or mentioned here over the last few weeks:
Vienna Teng - Inland Territory

Chris Potter - Gratitude

Jesca Hoop - Memories Are Now

Bess Atwell - Hold Your Mind
