What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Catrin Finch - Goldberg variations.
The Goldberg variations played on a harp. I prefer the sound of the piano. But once in a while it is nice to listen to this version.
First run.
Public Service Broadcasting. Inform, Educate, Entertain WAV CD Rip.
While scrolling through the albums list on the Pad, starting an album then thinking no, move on, I settled on this.
Very enjoyable and well recorded.
Listening to this on Tidal. Sounds nice.
GoGo Penguin - Man Made Object.

Ansuz power cable? Nice. Thoughts?
So far I ignored power provisioning and had concentrated on box upgrades, cleaning the provisioning of the stream through Melco and cables, interconnects and loudspeaker cables....
I think i should have earlier considered this. The impact is significant on the performance. The black boxes show more and more what they are capable of, even more emotion in the music then before, more believable. And at the starting level of the power cables which I tried out the last weeks I already was amazed of the level of improvement. Now with the even better power cable the bar has further raised.
i saw in a review that somebody talked about an average system already sounding quite good by just changing the powerprofisioning. And of I compare it with the investment we sometimes are prepared to make in other things, it's I think a must have for a lot of people.
While according to reviews my brand of cables is quite special, I belief that also investment in other brands will be highly beneficial for anybody who didn't yet do.
I will now focus on room acoustics to perfect my journey. While in this hobby you always can find ways of improving the experience.
From Bandcamp enjoyable jazz music...
An old fave from my teenage years. Unfortunately my CD version seems to have a crap version of 'Angel Eyes' on it compared to my original well played LP
Roxy Music - Manifesto
Renaissance Live at Albert Hall.
Two different masterings of the same 1977 event. Both have fantastic dynamic range and capture the performance well in their different way.
The 'Can you hear me' version is differently sequenced and had better extreme low bass and slightly better presence info, but is less clear at the high frequencies than the other version, which captures to top-end of Annie Haslam's soprano range better, but both are so good that I'd find it difficult to pick a winner on replay quality.
The live Orchestra, the superb liquid bass play of Jon Camp and Annie Haslam's singing are portrayed in a way that puts most modern recordings to shame in terms of clarity and dynamics. There are also captured the odd hum and buzz of the live event but it does not subtract from the performance.
DB.
Enjoyable...

Good to read. My dealer sells Ansuz and has recommended me using Ansuz power and speaker cables. Enjoy!
Kraftwerk in their 1970s pomp. On early 1980s Japanese vinyl:
Londinium by Archive - UK first press double vinyl LP. A random pick from the shelves:

For speaker cables I still would recommend the super lumina of Naim, I think they are really great...
Please allow me a moment to say thank you to all those who post here on the Music Forum. Have lost track of how many evenings of listening you all have helped me plan!
Last night it was Sean Rowe (who reminds me a bit of a young Greg Brown) and Sarah Jarosz. What a wonderful back-to-back listen that was! Tonight will be traditional folk, beginning with the wonderful Altan. And tomorrow? Well, not sure, but one thing's for certain...
I'll be checking here for ideas!
ATB.
Hook
I think this is Kraftwerk's best album musically, and conceptually it is their most perfectly realised. Great packaging too. This is an early 1980s Japanese vinyl version:
Van Morrison - The Philosopher's Stone
Yes, this one gets the coveted NigelB 5 smiley face award. It is that good.
Ivo Janssen - Das Wohltemperierte Klavier 2
Ivo Janssen started a project to record all of Bach's keyboard music (on piano). He even created his own label for it (VOID Classics).
UK first press vinyl. I've got my white socks and moccasins on, the Capri is adorned with furry dice, and I'm ready for some serious jazz-funk...
Late 1970s ABC US vinyl press. Sounds groovy! My fave Dan album.
Bugge (pronounced Boogie) Wesseltoft. New Conception of Jazz - Film ing. Just when I think I've Bugge's style/genre worked out, he comes up with another one. That's part of the joy of listening to his music. Foot tappingly good in places.
