Try DayDream Nation, a double album from 1988 - it's their masterpiece! EVOL and Sister are also very good.
Kevin-W posted:UK first press vinyl. I've got my white socks and moccasins on, the Capri is adorned with furry dice, and I'm ready for some serious jazz-funk...
Yes, I had loads of Crusaders albums back in my jazz funk loving yoof. Never owned white socks or moccasins though but always fancied a Capri.
Good modern jazz with some rock influences.
More Dan on vinyl. US 1970s ABC pressing. Principally for Show Biz Kids and Your Gold Teeth.

Joining Kevin and playing this, disc 3 of 4 which neatly sandwiches The Royal Scam between the end of Katy Lied and the start of Aja for 73 minutes of great Dan.

Haim,
Are you going to see Hamelin/Andsness duo recital this Sunday at the Orchestra Hall?
They'll be playing some Stravinsky tunes.

Last night it was Sean Rowe (who reminds me a bit of a young Greg Brown) and Sarah Jarosz. What a wonderful back-to-back listen that was! Tonight will be traditional folk, beginning with the wonderful Altan. And tomorrow? Well, not sure, but one thing's for certain...
I'll be checking here for ideas!

Quite so - thank you all. And I'll be billing you each separately!

Sade - Diamond Life
Have spent the day in London with a good friend. We were close in the mid eighties. I wanted to hear the soundtrack to those times.

I want to listen to ' Trumpet Jazz'.

Best of The Mamas and The Papas, WAV CD rip.
I've had their Creeque Alley playing in my head a lottoday, took me a few plays to work out the trigger. It's a light-hearted autobiography of the band, covering their previous bands and a few music friends. Mama Cass and Denny Doherty joined the band from The Mugwumps, I think I heard the song every time I saw Boris Johnson's face on a news site.
I'm happy it brought me to listen to this, I think they're one of the great Californian pop/rock bands, some brilliant songs, good musicians (most session apart from the guitars I think), superb harmony vocals, and of course the wonderful Cass Elliot.
Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Session.
We've had a few mentions of both Albert and Stevie lately, so why not this one?
Stevie playing support to one of his idols.

Funnily enough Kevin I was playing the German version yesterday.

Had a lucky dip into my LP collection and pulled this out...
Purchased this album 4 years ago for a fiver, a fabulous band making sounds like something out of the 70s
A nice studio recording too with superb sonic Q.
Recommended!

I can't believe I didn't realise this existed. Added to my basket on the River (waiting until I see a few more must-haves for free postage). Thanks Dave
