The Frapp, Silver Eye, on transparent vinyl. My first listen (on LP, at any rate). Gets better with each listen, I think, especially the more "ambient" tracks:

Back to The Sylv. On CD, a 2002 compilation of his instrumental, more avant-garde work, with two unreleased tracks. Why? Cause he's great, and his music, like Scott Walker's, has become steadily more challenging (and thus interesting) as time has gone on. And he's from Lewisham, like me!

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): Marie-Claire Alain (Organ)

Complete Works for Organ - Discs 2, 4, & 6

Marie-Claire Alain has never really grown on me yet but I keep trying none-the-less.  Maybe one day I will see the light?

You better see the light, Doug, with a 15 CDs box at stake..

No risk with Mitzi Meyerson's harpsichord:

PJ Harvey - Let England Shake.  CD rip.  A great album, I didn't get on with her last release though.

A big thanks to Dave Marshall for reminding me of this album. Re-purchased at The River, ripped and now playing wonderful music here.

"Desert Road" is the first release from one of England's most distinctive guitarists. Its swaying grooves and parched tones invoke Desert landscapes, Arizona or Sahara, an ancient / contemporary take on the blues - a Moorish Blues with echoes of the call to prayer and African trance. In Mali at the beginning of 1999, Adams bought a 3 stringed African lute - (an ngoni) - from a Tuareg musician. Its dry sharp tone has been around 4,000 years before the banjo. This magical instrument of hide and wood set the album in motion, providing rolling grooves which Adams has set against explosions of blues guitar and electronics in the spirit of Lee Perry or the early experiments of Pink Floyd or Roxy Music. Alone in a tiny lo-tech studio, Adams has created sound atmospheres which teeter on the edge between darkness and celebration, where the guitar is used not to show off pyrotechnics but as a supremely emotional instrument.

One of my lesser-played Phil Collins albums but I don't know why I neglect it.

A little bit of Hi-Res ELP by way of a change of tack, nothing not to like here.

What is there to say? If you are into jazz and don't have this album (you had 58 years to get it) better hide some place.
