2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
my yesterday listening to an from munich
for me still a benchmark in the prokofiev #2 and #3
A + 3 | WAV
(1986)
The 30th anniversary of this electronic classic, reissued. "Empetus' full blown sequencer-based music illustrating a further evolution in the visceral side of Roach’s music. Nine precise pieces that still sound fresh today. A favourite of sequencer music lovers."
La revancha del tango
because Tamil Rogeon's brand new 24 hours in Lapa, I was listening to last night, reminds me of this and it's been so long. It's better than I remember... Bought in Paris on vinyl whilst on my honey moon.
Blue Note Plays Billie Holiday compilation.
With coffee on a BH Mon, the prospect of the day opening before us....
C.
reminds me a lot off Koroliov
Bach cantatas, beautifully sung by the countertenor Iestyn Davies.
This is great romantic music, conducted by the composer ....
Working today (well, it's a Bank Holiday and it's pissing down). I alays find the Dead most conducive to work, so listening to this four-disc set. Phil's bass is awesome on this one.

Sorry to hear that K, lovely up north as usual Enjoy your day G
so far on this rainy and cold day (all ripped CD):
In total the best one from them IMHO
On CD:-
The Steven Wilson remix...
Jimmy Reed - Five Classic Albums.
Excellent 4 disc set from the master of shuffle blues, who was a major influence on many of the UK blues bands around at the time of the so called British Blues Explosion.
Another fine remastering from Real Gone Music.
Albert King - Born Under A Bad Sign.
"Hard luck and trouble" from Albert, one of the true originators of the blues.
Another one from the Stax remasters series, and highly recommended.
Making the most (!) of a wet bank holiday to have a listen to some recent and not so recent purchases.
Superb as usual.
Laura Marling - Semper Femina
William Bell - This Is Where I Live.
Veteran soul singer, back on the Stax label again ............ you need to hear his version of Albert's "Born Under A Bad Sign", awfully good.
Regarding my last shout, found this ........... what's not to like?
William Bell - Born Under A Bad Sign.
Sounding great on CD on this wet bank holiday Monday
before my workout ... (between rain showers...)
and now on re-mastered vinyl:
