Absolutely lovely album.
I've never thought that much of that album. I don't know why, but she seems to get less good as the albums go on. The very early ones are great, but the later ones seem sort of soulless.
Crystal Gayle - When I Dream (1978) vinyl
This alluring American Country artist has a beautiful voice. This LP was released at the height of her fame, and was her second consecutive number 2 in the country billboards, and went on receive a platinum disk. My vinyl which I bought from Oxfam recently plays beautifully. Even if you don't know Country you will probably have heard many of the songs before. The backings are excellent. To my ear some tracks have a touch of jazz and blues to them.

Caribou - "Our Love" (2014)
WAV CD rip. Last music of the night before bed.
I love Mullova's Bach performances, and Canino's piano complements her style perfectly in this selection of the sonatas. Lovely clear playing bringing out the beauty and the PRaT of Bach's writing.
Downloaded from Qobuz.
Rodney Crowell - "Tarpaper Sky" (2014)
Inspired by Bert and other forumites that have been listening to female voices.
CD - Silver Screen Records 2002 issue : )
MAYPOLE
In the woods there grew a tree,
And a very fine tree was he.
And on that tree there was a limb, And on that limb there was a branch, And on that branch there was a spray, And on that spray there was a nest, And in that nest there was an egg, And in that egg there was a bird,
And on that bird there was a feather, And on that feather was a bed,
And on that bed there was a girl,
And on that girl there was a man, And from that man there was a seed. And from that seed there was a boy, And from that boy there was man, And from that man there was a grave, And on that grave there grew a tree. In the Summerisle wood.
Meat Loaf. Bat Out Of Hell. On original vinyl from 1978. One of those albums that transports me right back to my high school days.
John Lennon. Menlove Ave. On vinyl from 1986. If you're ever playing Beatles trivia and some one asks to name the Lennon album that has never been reissued on vinyl this would be the correct answer. Side one, outtakes from the Rock 'n' Roll sessions is easy to bypass, but side two is a worthy listen, especially "Steel and Glass" and "Nobody Loves You When You're Down and Out".
Elvis Costello and The Attractions. Goodbye Cruel World. On vinyl from 1984. When I'm digging through the used vinyl bins and I come across an LP from Elvis in very good or better condition I always consider it a safe bet, even though I'm not overly familiar with his extensive discography. I like his punk and funk and this album didn't disappoint me.
