2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
The original released version not the one that came later.
Cyril, Paralyzed on CD. First Listen
I absolutely love their first album "Gone Through Years" a concept album loosely based on H.G. Wells The Time Machine.
This is a change of sound, becoming more Bluesy/Jazzy. Each track has its own story and works well. I'm looking forward to a few more spins of this one.
THE NECKS - Elemental

Listening to this Podcast, after seeing Two mesmerising concerts in Brighton & London this week. Interesting background to their 30 year existence.
Angel Olsen - My Woman
Gloriously atmospheric. But then, amidst all the streamer talk, this is from a CDS3 :-)

They were fantastic, like no other band I've seen in all my years...
Billy Ocean - Here You Are / The Best Of.
Heard "Red Light Spells Danger" on Forever FM t'other night.
Prompted much off key singing from your truly, so .................... this dropped through the letterbox this morning.
A few pence at the Rainforest.

'Get out of my dreams and into my car' ... haven't heard that since Tramps nightclub in Worcester
Ordered it
Hungryhalibut posted:I didn't know that this was coming out, so it was a nice surprise. It's something of a return to 'proper' jazz. Great sound and a much more discreet cover, which is far more appropriate for the classy music.
Didn't know that was out, either. Have just ordered one from the long river.
Nipping back to the 80s for a while...
Sade - Diamond Life
The more I grow familiar with the opera, the more I enjoy it. It's tempting to regard the work as Bellini-in-progress, looking at Rossini for inspiration, but by itself, it must rank with the best works of the period in entertainment value. Performance and production are excellent.
Cheers

Force Of Progress, Calculated Risk on CD.
Instrumental Prog with Keyboards galore, a bit of fun this one.

Something very disturbingly wrong with her legs in that picture ?
Alison Moyet - Alf.
Some more '80's vibe from Alison.
The very first CD ever purchased.

Its a classic.
She was signed for the record breaking sum of £8 million when she went solo.
Her record company got there money back with that album and some.
Her new album is meant to be really good.
I've not heard it yet.

Can't see anything wrong with Ms Krall's legs myself.

I think they go all the way ..... ..... down to her toes.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the turntable on the album cover(yet) oops I just did
Nice to see the only download releases are 24/192 so should be (they are) top end SQ & not over/re sampled copies.
I found HDT (UK) had it for silly money plus a 15% discount. Its on sale for prices all over the place, HDTrack UK is £13 (£11 with -15%) HDTracks (USA) is $22, other UK www are £15 to 18+
