another one deep in my collection -- i recall having some difficulty getting into it -- but i have used it every now and then as a system test to assess how well the countertenor voices were captured and projected - and how well they gelled with the 'viola da gamba' to produce the full emotional effect, with plenty of acoustic 'atmosphere'

enjoy...

on vinyl

because it's so damn funky...

Pete Townshend. Empty Glass. On original vinyl from 1980. It's been a very long time since I played this, possibly since the mid-1980s. I'd forgotten how good an album it is.

Josef Leimberg. Astral Progresssions.

In an alternative universe this would be n# 1.

Way Cosmic Jazz for those who are initiated.

Seems that this here could be a trend trending....

Big Big Train, Grimspound on CD

Last one tonight. Now that my Pre-order of this has finally arrived from the river!! SQ is a bit Sh$t. Flat as a pancake.

Sorry to hear that, I have it on vinyl and it sounds great!

Arrived in the mail today - this is hot stuff - what a band.

Ten Years After. Cricklewood Green. On original Deram vinyl from 1970.  A brilliant mix of blues inspired rock with some folksy infusions. Alvin Lee's tricky licks the icing on the cake.

In looking for this artwork I found the entire 1970 season for Tanglewood: Chicago, The Who, and Santana at 2 week intervals that summer - what a concert lineup.

Ulrich Schnauss - No further Ahead Than Today

Its been four years his las solo album possibly due to his involvement with other bands such as Engineers and Tangerine Dream, this one continues with his emotion filled electronic music.

The Circle & The Blue Door by Purson

"Think Siouxsie and the Banshees, but without the punkiness. Think Curved Air, but without the violins. Think of some dreamy psychedelic soft rock with a 70s/80s feel to it; mixed with keyboards; acoustic and electric guitars, and some melotrons on top."

An excellent debut album but their follow-up 'Desire's Magic Theatre'  is even better imo, and available on vinyl too! : )

I agree Debs, it was one of my favourite releases last year and is in the playlist and going  on next.

Steve/Debs, thanks to you both - yet another great find to add to my growing (groaning?) list - how on earth do you keep discovering these?

Paul, I've followed them since their debut album in 2013 so it was no real surprise that their second and latest album is so good, you can check them out on YouTube if you want to see more of them. Cheers.

Supertramp ...Famous Last Words... On original vinyl from 1982. I like Supertramp well enough from their familiar FM radio play back in the day. For some reason I've never warmed-up to this album; I guess I find it whiny. Think I need to abandon it, get a hold of "Breakfast In America" or "Crime of the Century", and reevaluate the band.

Yes it's good haven't yet 100 percent listened to it but what I have heard so far is very good, close to the level of the former album...

Marco Minnemann, Nick Beggs and Roger King often work with Steve Hackett, you can hear the Genesis, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree etc. influences going through the music. Well played contemporary prog.

The album that (at the time) split their fanbase down the middle.

Songs with multiple storylines inside, needs more spins to get to term with this one....
