Inspired by EWEMON's Blue Mitchell post. This is also a good one (with a young Chick Corea on piano).

Now on my first jazz album ever.

The LP went long ago and I didn't hear it again for years until I bought the big Brubeck Columbia albums box.

This arrived last week from the Big South American river...I would rate the SQ about B-, but the main reason I got it was because I was at this show. I remember that Terry Kath wore a Chicago Cougars WHA hockey jersey...great guitarist who unfortunately died the following year from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Other remembrances of this show were that among about 20,000 people I ended up sitting next to a guy from  my high school ice hockey team, even though we didn't know either of the other was going to the show. And Geraldo Rivera was the host since it was a benefit for the One-On-One Foundation. We had seats to the side of the stage (definitely not the greatest location, although we could see Danny Seraphine really well on drums.)

I wish all vinyl could sound as good as this.

Enjoyed this last night, it is good wind-down for late evening imho, surprisingly mellow and soothing for violin.

Nice for lazy Sunday afternoons too : )
