What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
"Concord recorded a number of solo piano concerts in the warm surroundings of the tiny Maybeck Recital Hall and one would be hard-pressed to find any that surpass this outstanding performance by Sir Roland Hanna. Over half of his program is devoted to selections by George Gershwin, beginning with a dazzling "Love Walked In," which delves into a jaunty style reminiscent of the late Erroll Garner… Like many of the releases in this series, Hanna's Maybeck concert was dropped from the catalog after the company changed hands, so expect it to become a high-priced collectable before long." (AllMusic)
I couldn't find a soundtrack from the Maybeck Recital so this will do:

Hadn't listened to this in quite a while:
Grateful Dead/Cornell University/May 8th - just released last week (also on vinyl and digital download) - 40 years ago today - not my favorite show from the May '77 tour, but certainly a great one!
Bert Schurink posted:Was exploring on Tidal, quite a haunting first song and a high male voice, give it a try.....
This is quite delightful and just the kind of find I enjoy discovering here. An interesting voice accompanied by carefully put together accompaniment.

Once again Black Hill (Csarnogurszky István's) ambient electro and acoustic guitar join Cousin Silas's ambient electronic synthesisers, the blend making for relaxed listening in the soundscapes they create.
I posted this last week having gotten it from Amazon then - giving it another listen, and cannot recommend it strongly enough - good sound quality, and this version of the band is just so tight and really on the money. Really pleased I bought this, and if you like Santana I give it a hearty reco to add it to your collection.

Thanks it sounds as thought this is worth looking for.
Joe Henderson's '5 Orignal Albums' arrived in the mail this morning.

This is sounding very good and has been nicely remastered.
If you like modern jazz piano trio's, than I can highly recommend this album / artist. I don't know much about Orrin Evans (yet). I just listened to this album on Tidal and I think it's is very good. Most tracks are up tempo ones.
On CD:-
Imelda May - Tribal
This is another fine recording by George Cables. It's on the SteepleChase label. In my opinion all of his recordings for this label are very worthwile.
Aimee Mann - Mental Illness
Rather nice.

This by Gene Harris also from the Maybeck Recital Hall series. It is rather wonderful IMHO.
It is on Tidal.
Ron Sexsmith - Forever Endeavour
Not played this for ages, what a good album. With a cuppa after shift.

Not listened to this in quite a while and its sounding rather good as a Hi-Res Tidal Master.
