For some reason I decided a long time ago that Prokofiev isn't my kind of music. Hence, I completly ignored his music. The last six month I started listening to his music again and discovered that I like his music.
I could never have any bad thoughts about his music after hearing his March 'Love for Three Oranges' at a very early age:
This Fraim effect is stunning .....

Good One. Have you listened to this one?

Wiki tells me this was the last record of the three that comprise his 'Classic phase', the other two having had mentions here recently. Who am I to argue?!
Sides 1 and 4 are on one record, 2 and 3 on the other. Always baffled me.

I'd guess it's for auto changers. You set up to play 1 then 2, then flip both records for 3 and 4.
I've seen this mentioned quite a few times lately by some of the regulars so it was duly ordered. Got back from a few days away and it was waiting for me. Ripped and copied across to the Melco so it's time for listen

Give it a few plays, James. Being one of those who has recommended this album on a few occasions I'd be interested to hear what you think.
CD - Warner Bros 1978 : )
37 minutes short but sweet album.
Becomes a 1 hour 15 minute version by playing it twice : )

Of all the live discs that I've played so far from the 22 disc box set, this is my current favourite. Some superb guitar playing from Mr Hillage and great sound quality too. This one really cooks. I think they must have been having fun at this show.

As usual, Radio Paradise this morning followed by:
BNQT - Volume 1. Is it just me or is this a dog's breakfast of styles?
Feist - Pleasure. Finding it hard to warm to this one.

A nice one by Bill Evans.
If you like Memphis soul ala Al Green try this. Great album from a 75 year old veteran.
Starts off with a fabulous version of the old Nickel and a Nail written by Van the Man and made famous by OV Wright.
Tom Waits and Crystal Gale - One from the Heart, always amazes me how much this pairing works and I have worn out my first copy, so it's good there are a couple in reserve
