In the need for some Thin Lizzy and this Japan CD is sounding wonderful with great SQ, cranked up loud.

Frank Sinatra - Sinatra Sings Great Songs From Great Britain
I've never seen that Sinatra before.
Steve,
The album was recorded in London from June 12th to June 14th 1962. The music was arranged and conducted by Robert Farnon. The booklet notes say that during the three evenings in the studio half of British Show Business sat in the studio looking agape at the exhibition of virtuosity before them.
Dave
Thanks Dave that's interesting I'll have a look for this one.
Still early days for me with this latest from Goldfrapp. Different in style from Tales... but very rhythmic.
I can't really muster up the enthusiasm for their new album, but this one, their first, which came out when I was 15, is just bloody wonderful.
Borders Nick posted:Chris Stapleton - From a Room Vol 1. Getting lots of plays at the moment. Highly recommended. Even if your not a "country" fan, give "I Was Wrong" a blast on Tidal - a real hairs-on-the back-of-the-neck-stand-up track which may just tempt you into the rest of the album.
Tidal, trying this after seeing various people listen here. Thanks to you all, I'm only half way through, and the CD is already in my basket at the river.
Z Z Top - Deguello.
Picking up on one of Stevee_S 's earlier shouts .............. this ..............LOUD evening, anyone?
Before a nice registration of a live concert...
Now switched to the official album, of course with a superior sound quality...
Had this on in the car today - almost every song is a good song, great album which I should listen more...
One of my favourite Billy Bragg albums, though it's an e.p. really. The Internationale, the Red Flag, and one of the songs I want at my funeral; Blake's Jerusalem. Ideally this very version.

IMHO it's a good album
What a fun, fun, fun album this is ..
A new one for me after reading the 'Grateful Dead' thread. Thought i'd dip my toe in the water with this one...
Grateful Dead - American Beauty
WAV CD Rip, Brendel playing the Hammerklavier and Op. 109. Some of my happiest music memories are of Brendel playing Beethoven (and others) in London halls, and this album and the whole boxset of sonatas it's from bring them back. Intelligent thoughtful beautiful musicianship, and some of the greatest music ever written.
This is my favourite JD song, the marvellous Atmosphere. Another song I want at my funeral.
Fish
Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors - 16bit 44.1kHz Wave

Nigel, this is a posthumous release featuring Ian before his death, Pure joy division although credit as New Order. It was only ever released as a single and on a couple of compilations (NO) last time I checked. It is quite dark and gloomy but still one of my favourite tracks.

Imelda May - Life Love Flesh Blood
Love this. When she sings 'Black Tears' it's just sublime...
