2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
CD WAV rip. Rapid performance, brings out the architecture of the work, not as immediately transcendental as later lusher performances, but I do find it spiritually uplifting. Great playing from the VPO.

I have a strange feeling John was being a little sarcastic, Ewe. I could be wrong. Seriously wrong!

Nigel, this is a posthumous release featuring Ian before his death, Pure joy division although credit as New Order. It was only ever released as a single and on a couple of compilations (NO) last time I checked. It is quite dark and gloomy but still one of my favourite tracks.
Tony, JD did record IALP, there's an extract of it on the Heart & Soul box set. They also performed Ceremony, there's a live version on Still (recorded at the last JD gig).
Ceremony and IALP were recorded by the three-piece NO (with Martin Hannett at the controls) in the Autumn of 1980 in New Jersey.
When Gillian joined NO in October 1980, they re-recorded Ceremony (although IALP is the same three-piece version, Hannett added a few "thunderclaps" for the later 12").

Kev, I have that box set and forgot all about it. I meant it was never released on any of their main two studio albums, Unknown Pleasures and Closer. I know you have a strong knowledge of everything JD and NO and also your "close" links with Factory and Tony. Thanks for the extra info.
Hope you're well.
Am enjoying WIre's latest, Silver/Lead, via Tidal.
2007 - CD...
Superb trio session with the late Mulgrew Miller and Ira Coleman. Very well recorded. Released after TW passed away in '97...
Blank & Jones: Relax
Down tempo chill groove from the past.
Good for workout, always a hint of Led Zeppelin..
The latest Aldous Harding album

Sounding wonderful.
Fink - Horizontalism.
Last of the Fink back catalogue bargains arrived earlier, now ripped and playing.
This is a collection of dubs and remixes, loosely based on the previous album, "Hard Believer".
For all dub fans out there, it's a cracker.
More Keith Jarrett in a different setting: Live Evil with Miles, specifically 'What I Say'
