What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
From the Vinyl collection - a big improvement on the battered copy my brother had in the 70s. Sounds pretty amazing given was recorded in late 60s. Some excellent material little of which ever makes it to the compilation albums, so really worth a good listen.
The wonderful Stacey Kent, I haven't played one of her albums for a long time

I definitely cannot say why it took me so long to acquire this masterpiece of coolness performed by the piano-less quartet.

Just listening now. Wonderful.
Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young & Jones - Long Time Gone
Just this video. Never fails to cheers me up (and after Graham Taylor's passing and Villa's dismal showing this evening, I need it).
If I'd have known of this at the time I'd probably have exploded, as CSN&Y were the epitome of cool underground and Tom Jones was Mum's favourite crooner. As I only discovered it a few years ago I can appreciate Jones The Voice giving it plenty!
P.S. Note Clear Light's drummer in the backing band.
Sonny Stitt : Tune-up! CD rip. A nice one.
Released in 2016; 4 gentlemen from Iceland .. I've been playing it all day .. these guys have a real future ..

Mixture of blues, soul, indie folk ballads ..
This is music to be played on NAIM kit ..
Tortoise - It's All Around You
Ambient, post-rock? Who cares? This Late Junction find is perfect played very quietly with a cold San Mig after a long drive.

Neil Young with Crazy Horse. Broken Arrow. On HDCD from 1996. I typically expect solid, hard-driving psychedelic rock from NY + CH. This album's a loosely constructed departure but OK late on a Saturday night.
Still exploring my Caravan collection

Playing the Beethoven from CD 2 of 2, these recordings made variously in '63, '65 & 70.
Beautiful music by Bach on a Sunday morning. Streaming from Tidal.
A bit of nostalgia for Sunday morning.
… and a sample.
I reckon this live Dead acoustic set suits a Sunday morning.
