What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Dan Arborise - "Around In Circles" (2006)
I'm really enjoying this. It cost me 1p on CD.
Nice recording by Ron Carter.
Out of the blue not period, nice while less polished...
Frankie Miller - Full House.
Continuing in a tartan mood with Scotland's best ever soul voice, IMHO.
David Gilmour - "On An Island" (2006)
Country blues...
1974 reissue of the 1959 original recording on vinyl.
Sparks volumes 1 and 2 from the box set. Many of these tracks are backing tracks and studio demos. That said, I'm currently listening to 'Aftaglid' from the second volume which sounds quite the finished article. But different.
Neil Young does American classics, great fun and Neil stamps his personality on some old "favourites".

Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer - "Child Ballads" (2013)
Ooh, that looks interesting, hope it's on Tidal for a first listen this evening.j
Annoyingly couldn't see it on Tidal or Amazon Music, tracked down one live song, Clyde Waters on Amazon Music, that's impressed me enough to get the CD into my basket. Thanks Jeff.
Fleetwood Mac - "The Very Best of ......." (2002) disc 2 of 2
This second Quercus album is really superb, beautifully sung and played. June Tabor has an incredible voice.

Testing the boundaries of my eclectic capabilities. It seems to just require volume to expose the true feel and sense of being in there amongst them. Will need to play this several times for some essential avant-garde hearing practise : )
Debs
On vinyl...
Sounding even better now Chris from HiddenSystems has changed the springs and grommets and reset the suspension on my LP12.
Thanks Chris!!
Another vastly improved sounding album, on vinyl.
Just goes to prove how a well set up LP12 can sound!
On vinyl...
I love Harnoncourt's Beethoven, for me he brings out the drive and the beauty.

Do Hidden Systems set them up the Lejonklou way? And is there such a thing?
Tonbruket - Nubium Swimtrip
Hard... but also delicate and tactile in parts.

Not sure which method was used, all I know is the result which is fantastic sounding vinyl!!
