2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
D'Angelo - Voodoo.
What is this, ................ soul, hip hop, r 'n b ?
Who cares, it strays sufficiently into dub territory to be just the thing for chillin' on a sun drenched North Yorks. afternoon.
Something mellow and tuneful - on vinyl.

Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come.
Some easy going reggae lite on a sunny North Yorks. afternoon.
Belter, Dave.
David Rodigan - Real Authentic Reggae Volume 1.
Hi Nigel,
If you prefer reggae on the lighter side, have listen to this collection, curated by David Rodigan, and available on the Tidal thingy.
Now for something more up-tempo. On vinyl. Glorious.

Because it's one of my favourite 'Harum albums and another classic that turns fifty this year. Ripped from an original Cube label CD made in France, this a mono release from 1988 (I think).
Very nice recording by the Jan Lundgren trio. It's modern jazz (piano trio) with mostly slow and mid tempo songs. If you like for example Triosence, you will probably like this one as well. Also the sound quality of this recording is very fine.
Corrine Bailey Rae - Corrine Bailey Rae.
Having a wee break from the reggae / dub for something a bit lighter.
Why this one? Well, she's got a great voice, and there's some smashing choons on here.

It's a glorious warm and sun drenched early evening, time to wheel out this old (well recorded and great sounding) favourite that exudes its own sunshine.
There's something strangely captivating about MF's singing.
On vinyl - with the Our Price £6-99 sticker still appended (before W H Smith broke the brand).
Sometimes find Radiohead a difficult listen, but particularly enjoying this LP tonight.
Matthew Halsall - On the go
Now switched to a completely different genre...

Was fortunate to take some people from the UK to see d'angelo on this tour at NYC radio city hall. Fantastic album and venue and a spectacularly intense show

One of their very best (later period) albums. Played loud because I can...
1994 - U.K. Pressing...
Yello - Baby.
Filling in the gaps in my Yello collection ............. cheap as chips on The Rainforest ................. good shout Stevee_S
Listening to Bach's partita no. 6 played by Angela Hewitt. Just magnificant.

Nonsense. A little excursion to the Padded Cell now and again can be invigorating. If we all agreed on everything all the time, life would become exceedingly dull.
I'm enjoying a bit a Mr Waters' work this evening.
Diana Krall - Turn Up The Quiet
DK on top form. Lovely.
And the SQ on this is superb and I am only listening via Tidal. The hi res version must be wonderful.
1969 - vinyl - U.K. presssing...
