Just heard one of their tracks on Radio Paradise so why not play this . . . .

If you can try and get a copy of the official bootleg that was issued round about the same time. Usually called Roxy and Elsewhere, certainly in my Top 5 live albums of all time.

It periodically comes up on a certain auction web site.

Thanks ewemon. Can't find it at the moment, but will try and keep an eye out for that.

Nothing available either on Discogs at the moment except this link:

There is whole batch of trax from the above up on youtube.

I see their last gig is being retransmitted on the 24th June.

Saw them in Vancouver many moons ago and the gig made me a fan for life.

Chris Stapleton - Traveller

Wierd! I have heard this album a few times and thought it a good effort, no more, no less. More recently I have been very much enjoying Chris's new release - From a Room : Volume 1 which I think is superb. I thought I would give Traveller another whirl and am extremely impressed, far more than pervious listens. What's all that about? Getting more acquainted with an artist? Very strange. However (assuming you like old school country) I thouroughly recommend both albums. CS is a wonderful singer and musician.

A lovely album. I still treasure the memory of seeing them perform most of it live.

  Orchestre Poly-Rythmo - Cotonou Club.

A dazzling slice of AfroBeat from these guys, reunited again some twenty years after their classic Analog Africa releases.

A favorite ACT:

The Alboran Trio takes its name from the narrow stretch of water which connects Europe and Africa around the Straits of Gibraltar, long a conduit of cultural exchange. Pianist and composer Paolo Paliaga, who formed the group with fellow Italians Dino Contenti (bass) and Gigi Biolcati (drums) in '03, consciously set out to draw on musical traditions from all around the Mediterranean. Meltemi has one foot in the Bill Evans piano trio lineage, the other dancing nimbly between Latin, Maghrebi and Balkan influences. The music rarely breaks into clearly delineated multiculturalism—it's more subtle and elliptical than that—but it's shot through with fragments and suggestions of Mediterranean harmonies and rhythms.

Love Chris, wonderful songwriter musician and singer, I came across him when I heard him on the NPR Tiny Desk series which can be found here: http://www.npr.org/event/music...on-tiny-desk-concert

He sings three songs with his wife from the Traveler album, a really nice short set.

Set List

  • "More Of You"
  • "When The Stars Come Out"
  • "Whiskey And You"

A + 3 | WAV

(2013)

Progressive, psychedelic stoner rock with wonderful heavy riffs that carry the music forward like an irresistible  tidal flow. The Berlin based Samsara Blues Experiment certainly hit a sweet spot in this genre.

I like this one as well a lot melodically and very subtile.

A bit of Randy and the gang on vinyl:

I've never found a re-mastered version of this - would love to get hold of one as my original is wearing out.

Fink - Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet.

Superb live album, with great SQ and "live" feel ............... slowly, but surely becoming one of my favourite live recordings.

On a typically overcast, damp, North Yorks. Bank Holiday Monday.

The smooth.smooth, smooth sound of Mr Isaac Hayes...

Original 1972 1st press vinyl.

Posted on: 29 May 2017 by Clive B

Although very much Sonny Rollins' comeback album, the guitar playing from Jim Hall is top class and the interplay between guitar and saxophone flows seemlessly. Very enjoyable album on this dull, overcast Bank Holiday Monday.
