Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs - Sweet Relief

We all like early Black Sabbath, right? And Motorhead? This is the lead single from a new album by the annoyingly named Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs called Feed The Rats, soon to be available on Qobuz, Bandcamp (and I expect elsewhere) that combines the two rather splendidly.

Intriguingly the other two tracks on the  album add up to 32 minutes combined, so monsters not just in sound by the looks of them.

For the thousands of you that just can't wait, The Quietus is streaming the whole thing.

Very heavy, very old-fashioned. I love it. Can't wait to set the PMCs to stun.

Tingvall Trio - again Skagerrak, is one of their great albums. I have them all - no weak points in the catalog....

Yes, you crossed my mind this morning although I  thought you ended up getting "Illustrated Night".  Unfortunately, EW has apparently fallen off the earth.  I can find nothing about him in the past 12 or 13 years.  As many artists he was a very intense personality and the last I knew lived in the mountains near Woodstock NY in a log house he built himself with no electric or plumbing.  Fireplace, well water and outhouse.  A unique blend of singer/songwriter with heavy jazz influences.  It was a pleasure to be acquainted with him for a bit and along with his 3 releases I have two bootlegs he allowed me to make that bring back some very good, albeit short, memories.  I hope somewhere he is doing well.  And, best regards to you, Gary.  Jeff A

Looking forward to trying this, feeling a bit fragile today so mine won't be set to stun just yet...

Massive Attack - Heligoland.

Easy to overlook this, as I've been guilty of doing, in favour of their earlier work, but, blimey this is good.

Opeth - Pale Communion, vinyl. Giving this another listen as I haven't really been able to appreciate it so far. I'm finding the second disc to be a bit more interesting than the first, which just seemed like European metal to my ears.

From Steinway & Sons' growing catalog of personal and beautifully recorded piano recitals comes this one from Chinese pianist Shen Lu, whose training includes stints in Beijing, Boston, and Cleveland. Chinese musicians are said to be seeking out American teachers as a way of adding freedom and originality to their thinking, and that seems to be what's happening here. A mix of Chinese and western works played expertly.
