Last year's thread can be found here;
Culture - Culture on the Front Line.
A two CD set containing Culture's first four albums on Richard Branson's Front Line reggae label.
One of many Jamaican acts, overlooked by most, in favour of Bob Marley .............. have a listen, Culture are sensational.

The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
Brad Mehldau - The art to the trio.
One of his first recordings, and a very good one. This includes a wonderful version of the Beatles 'Blackbird'.

Not allowed to answer as it hasn't been released yet.
Personally think this is one of the best blues albums I have heard in awhile. More in the style of Boz Scaggs Come on Home album. Great mix of styles of blues.
I had a hankering to hear some super-dense jazz fusion. So here it is. On a BGO vinyl reissue from the 1980s:

1967 - U.K. Double EP - First stereo pressing...
Today may well be the 50th anniversary of the release of Sgt Pepper, but this album (actually double EP) which preceded it is WAY better (IMHO of course!)

Prompted by Christopher-M earlier, this is my favourite Hall and Oates album getting the cobwebs blown off it
Tomasz Stanko Quartet - Soul of things.
Joining in the Beatles stuff today, I decided this would be my contribution. This was remixed and remastered some time before the 9/9/09 releases and was, in my opinion, better than any of those. I'm particularly enjoying thIs version of 'It's All Too Much'.

Clive without checking, I think that's the same earlier version that I have and if so yes, it is better.
Great artist, have quite a number of albums - always on a high standard...
Wow the Beatles still keep coming on, now iconic. I was at the Hollywood bowl 3 years ago, someone did a jazz version of You're so Heavy. I whispered to my friend I din't know the name. Young turks behind me had the answer. At intermission I turned to them to thank them. One of the young ladies had a Beatles class in college. I told them I was 10 when they were on Ed Sullivan and had a crew cut and B&W TV. My sisters roundly put me down for not knowing their names. And from Revolver on had the albums the first week they were out. They were impressed, it was a lively conversation.
I'll go back to my Mono Masters, I have new neighbors here in the desert and he has 70s equipment and albums. Hasn't really heard my system yet but in the evenings when they're out on the porch I open my slider so they can hear tasty music.

More out there 1970s Miles, on US vinyl from some time in the early 80s. Fabulous guitar from John McLaughlin:

One thing that is obviously improved is the stereo presentation, where on some of the earlier recordings vocals were on one channel with instrumentation on the other. Maybe that explains some of the enthusiasm afforded the mono remasters.
I'm going to join Kevin with some Miles Davis with contribution from John McLaughlin
Me too, with
