2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
1983 - I always enjoyed Ms Fraser's voice well before her collaborations in MA's Mezzanine.

Thanks Tony, lovely to see this (and others on tape) which were a major part of my (tape only) collection at that time.
Rodney Crowell - "Close Ties" (2017) an excellent album
Tonight is becoming a Sonny Clark night.
Here is another good one from him: My conception. With Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Paul Chambers and Art Blakey. Talk about a great line up!
Francis and the Lights - Farewell Starlite streaming fromTidal.
80s sound with lots of synth and a Phil Colins sound to his vocals.
Peaceful and nice.
Spoon - "Hot Thoughts" (2017)
John Vanderslice - "Dagger Beach" (2013)
Badi Assad - Echoos of Brazil. Accoustic guitar.
STW - Monday Morning Mixtape. (Some great tracks this week)
Elliott Smith - "Either/Or" (1997)
John Paul White - "Beulah" (2016)

Roger Waters, Is This The Life We Really Want?
I had avoided listening to the tracks when made available as I wanted to play the album through on my first listen. I have now played it 3 times and each time I like it more.
I love that it pulls from past PF and RW albums and yet is definitely a modern sound.
A job well done.

Still R3 here.
Bloody hell! No satisfying some people. I wiill work on this throughout the day, and hopefully I can come up with a solution that suits all parties. You know I only want to please you all...
Sorry, but I am a lone voice who liked the Sid avatar. Not pretty but it made me chuckle. BTW I had a chopper like Sid's. I was one of the first kids to get one and all the girls loved it. Oooh…errr…missus.

Nigel - fear not! As soon as Ian, Tony and Chris are looking the other way, Sid will return. On his Chopper.
Arrived home and a few CD's were awaiting .....
First up ........ (a recommendation from NigelB & MDS from a few days ago)
Kandace Springs - Soul Eyes
.....from the first few songs.....its a winner. Great voice, just smooth......
......time for one more before off to bed, and going with another recommendation
......by some members in this thread.
So far, so good, enjoying the music...... a couple of the songs remind me of Damien Rice.

I'm hoping that at some stage the hi-res 24/96 (available by ripping and converting the Blue Ray Disc) will be made available to buy separately, in the meantime I'll settle for this latest 2 CD remaster.
