Riverside, Love, Fear And The Time Machine WAV CD Rip.

This is the band that started my quest to discover more European Prog that has given me some stunning albums to enjoy.

Paul McCartney & Wings. Band On The Run. On original vinyl from 1973. Among Macca's best albums, I've been listening to this over and over again, same as I did as a teenager. Loving it.

Mozart Piano Quartet No.1 & 2: Budapest String Quartet + Szell on piano

Recorded in 1945 but released in 33 12" LP in 1948. Darkly coloured antique sounding recording. A decent clarity for the vintage and piano comes through pretty well. Dry string tone.

Incissive staccato piano without any pedals cuts in like a sharp knife along with equally sharp and precise fiddles without fluidity. Focus is on rhythmic pulse amongst the musicians but certainly could have used a touch of whimsy.

Nah, this pairing is their masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Original UK vinyl pressings (bought on the day of release):

Not only listen to but watching as well:

Bought yesterday, iTunes - Deacon Blue, Live at The Glasgow Barrowlands. Very good!

Santana - Blues For Salvador

Inspired by an earlier Santana suggestion, I am giving this a whirl on Tidal. Rather enjoyable. Carlos seems to blend latin, jazz (/funk), rock and a touch of blues seamlessly.

Bert, I am such a plonker. I have both GP's most recent releases but have completely ignored 'Be Good'. I am listening to it now on Tidal and it is indeed a fine album.

After binge-watching Amazon's Dead doc on Monday night (all four hours of it), this late flowering of the band (with Branford Marsalis guesting) this triple live CD from 1990 has much appeal:
