2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Last for tonight
This was a nice experience. Some some reviews of his new album, with some of the supporting musicians I like, so I gave this earlier album a try via Tidal and was very much font of it. Slow and delicate jazz, but ver intriguing. I will get the stuff when I am back home....
On vinyl...
LP1 from this vinyl box set...
Have not played this in ages, what a treat!!
On vinyl...
I just realised that it must be at least a fortnight since I last played this. Corrective action has been taken. It must have been quite some experience to have been at this event.
Moving on to Yes, Keys to Ascension (2).

A record recommended album....
I listened to this earlier this evening. It is wonderful. What a find.
first up this evening, something that just arrived in the mail
Willie at his finest, at 84 taking a look at his future head on. Wonderful songs.
A write up in the Rolling Stone provides a song by song guide to the album and some video links and can be found here.
.....next up, another new arrival in the mail.....
I have a number of Diana albums and they are all damm good!

Imagine Portishead meet London Grammar and you get the picture (in my head anyway).
Have to agree; the description is spot on and I'm really in the mood for this. Thanks!

Roll the Bones | Shakey Graves
Rose-Garcia is professionally known as Shakey Graves, from Austin Texas, ... his 2011 self-released debut album, Roll the Bones, which brought him national acclaim and, three years later, still ranks near the top of Bandcamp's digital best-seller charts.

Timeless...
Timeless indeed, Tony. Probably my favourite Miles album, although maybe I should say it's my favourite prior to Bitches Brew. Jazz changed markedly with that album.
Paul McCartney. Driving Rain. On CD from 2001. Sixteen tracks recorded in two-weeks on 8-track and 16-track analog tape in Los Angeles. While probably his least successful album in terms of sales, it hints at the more accomplished output to come from Chaos And Creation ... , Memory Almost Full, and Electric Arguments.
On CD:-
Paul McCartney - McCartney II

A hidden gem in McCartney's extensive discography that to me plays better today than when it was released. "Temporary Secretary" among my favorite Macca oddities.

Like, but her legs have been 'shopped' & I can't help thinking she's turning into a Mermaid!
This is a new release from the ever wonderful Chiaroscuro Quartet, which follows the first volume of Sun Quartets released last year. For anyone interested, the high res is available from eClassical for only $11 at the moment.

His voice has mellowed like a fine wine.
Susumu Yokota and Rothko. Distant sounds of summer.
" Like floating on a Ryuichi Sakamoto and Hokusai dream "
Why? Because it's magnificent... Fantastic opening song on a great album.
Vermont. Vermont.
shades of ' Boards of Canada' use of 70s Kosmische throwbackdrop.. still very beautiful.
