Deep Blues - Robert Palmer.

I posted this over on the books topic the other day, but it's worth repeating here.

A concise history of the birth of the blues .................. a good read for anyone beginning their journey into the blues and wishing to learn how, where and with whom, it all began.

A slim volume for less than a tenner over on The Rainforest.

The bonus material from Some Girls

I find it easy to see why most of it didn't make the stupendous album but then again here is the tighest little country rocker you never heard which sort of made me think twice:

Not to impressed with the first two track, but the rest of the album is excellent.

Simple Minds - Sons and Fascination

Broadly 80s spec Linn, Naims and Mk2 SBLs just seem so right  :-)

Vangelis - Chariots of Fire

I bought the LP from Oxfam for £2 and it was the first record to be cleaned by my Loricraft PRC4. The early listenings were somewhat underwhelming.

I have now added PL Lites to my 282s SuperCap DR and more importantly totye NAPSC. Previously had the standard MK plug power cords, and have tried PLs and just didn't like the sound.

Now this vinyl really delivers all the amazing sounds including the surf. It is very atmospheric.

Has anyone else ever had vinyl or CDs that don't deliver?

There is a recent thread on comparison between PL and PL Lite. I'm definitely adding these PL Lites at 1/6th of the cost of a PL. The come as standard on the big black boxes now, but I'm not sure about the NAPSC. The theory behind the NAPSC is that a better power cord stops noise etc getting in the 282 from the control side which switches the inputs. It a source first kind of thing.
