2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Paul Quinichette - On the Sunny Side. 1957, CD-rip (with bonus track). Sweet, nice band.
Pete Namlook & Tetsu Inoue: 2350 Broadway
David Gray - White Ladder
On CD
First up this morning......
Melissa Etheridge
..... the debut album.....just a great voice
Mike Oldfield - Discovery
I really love the sound effects he achieves on all his albums. I particularly like Maggie Reilly's vocals with "To France" being my favourite. £3.99 from Oxfam on vinyl.
As with previous posts, PL Lites really bring out the sound on the 282's two power supplies. If you think that the NAPSC does not need a better power cord you are mistaken. At £95 less my discount it's a bargain. If "To France" doesn't Wow you, you need to scratch your head.
Phil
..... next up
Hootie & the Blowfish - Fairweather Johnson
Just love Darius Rucker's vocals......
First listen.
Wife's back, so back to some more classic guitar by Andres Segovia
Perfect for a very sunny and warm mid-day.
.....next up
John Cougar Mellencamp - Scarecrow
...... some heartland rock.......
On Vinyl
Perfect for a wet and windy day in Cornwall
Hank Mobley
Is this the life we really want?
Jolly Roger as ever...Jolly good it is to.
G
.....Next up......
John Lee Hooker - the healer
.....moving over to some blues, this is one fantastic album. Guests on this album with John include, Carlos Santana & the Santana Band, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Canned Heat, Los Lobos, George Thorogood, and Charlie Musselwhite. John just has such a large deep voice, mesmerizing, love his work over such a long career and continued touring right up to end.....
Rather excited to be seeing these at Madison Square Garden in August as part of my special ?0th birthday trip. With Chic ft Nile Rodgers as support.
As the sun gets higher and the day hotter, the music gets ever so more restful and soothing.
