Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

.....described as a wonderful piece of improvisation, not rehearsed, Miles discussed the five pieces then they played and recorded with each member playing their part. The band - Miles Davis (trumpet & leader), John Coltrane (tenor saxophone) , Bill Evans (piano on all tracks except Freddie Freeloader), Julian Adderly (alto saxophone), Paul Chambers (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums), and Wynton Kelly (Piano on Freddie Freeloader).

Been listening to my new Vinyl of Kiri Te Kanawa - Strauss - Last Four Songs and Ime Abendrot hit me hard and the tears came, wow.  Looked up the lyrics and then listened to Renee Fleming on YouTube...crocodile tears.

I discovered that one of the best thing Strauss wrote isn't his big orchestral pieces but these dear songs. Kiri's Strauss is wonderful.

I love 4 Last Songs. and it is very difficult for me to listen to.

I still remember that I heard them first in the concert hall. And indeed the response was emotional. It was by the way a concert by the Dutch soprano Miranda van Kralingen.

I recently discovered this piano trio. It's very nice modern jazz.

Will explorer more of their work in the near future.
