What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

Ha, luv it Kev, effing Philistines you have over there.
Halfway through my second play of this album. As has been said on the album specific thread - it's a grower. Very typically Roger Waters. I can detect similarity with Animals and, of course for the political anger, The Final Cut. Getting better as I get used to it. I love the line, "Everytime a nincompoop becomes the president".
My copy has 'Side A' labels on both sides of the first disc, which is a bit confusing. And I do so wish record companies would stop putting new vinyl releases in cardboard inner sleeves! What is the point in pressing on two 180g discs and then sliding them into cardboard sleeves? Thank goodness for my RCM and MoFi inner sleeves.
Straight no chaser - nice 5 CD set

One of the guests is not happy at all with Kev's attitude and mindedness.
Question is: which one is Kev?
Something less free than before ....
Gregg Allman All my Friends, cd & dvd, listening and watching all day .....sooooo good.
Had the pleasure of seeing the Allman Bros at Knebworth, along time ago. They were sensational, and in the same day Tim Buckley, Alex Harvey, John Mclaughlin, Van Morrison and the Doobie Brothers.... not bad for £2.50 !

Would you be so kind as to post the artists name?
That's Kelly Lee Owen, Ewe. Had to google myself. Yes, a little consideration sometimes wouldn't go amiss.
Thanks Tony
Apologies all, I had meant to update that post before getting sidetracked. It's Kelly Lee Owens' debut album from a few months ago - it's the bomb.
A review and some samples here: https://boomkat.com/products/kelly-lee-owens
Sounds not bad will need to investigate it further.
New Alison Moyet
Wonderful performance/recording on Winter & Winter of Gamba and Lute works by Marais, Forqueray, Simpson, etc.
Brilliant recording done in Briosco, Italy 1999. Beautiful packaging/art work as well…
Inspired by Bert's playing of this earlier, I took a listen on Tidal, eclectic mix of music, played as well as you'd expect, on the list for my next order. Thanks Bert.
This is a really enjoyable version of psychedelic rock. Heavier than early Floyd, but just as musical and creative.

Hoping this is is good longtime fan of Alf.
1968 - Vinyl - U.K. First pressing...
Daniel Avery's Drone Logic, featuring Kelly Lee Owens on a handful of tracks, including the shoegazey techno closer...
For anyone who missed this first time around, there's now a snazzy gatefold double vinyl re-press - worth it just for Kate Copeland's illustration for the cover.
Listening to a bunch of trax off the album.

Fink - Biscuits For Breakfast.
I know, I know, there's no hope for me ............... simply can't stop listening to this ............. a beautifully recorded "blues" album.
I discovered this guy only recently, but I'm hooked.
It's on Tidal, and you really do owe it to yourself to have a listen ............ his cover of Alison Moyet's "All Cried Out" .......... stunning.
Awfully good, highly recommended.
Damn you Dave Marshall! It would be nice to listen to some other artist but as of late it's all Fink it seems for me. It is really good.
Arrive home to find a CD in the mail box.......
I ordered this from recommendation of members of this thread......
Really enjoying the opening songs!
During my workout

Thanks for recommending this - I'd never have found it myself. I got it this morning as a download from Qobuz for just over £10 and am listening to it now. Teriffic.
