What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Dianne Reeves - For Every Heart

You've posted about twenty albums in three hours - is this what you are actually listening to, or merely an attempt to post your record collection? Saying why the albums are any good, as in the thread title, would be really useful to others. For example, is the Kuniko any good? Linn keep trying to tempt me to buy it.

It's exactly what I'm listening to as generated by my music server's (LMS) ''genre: classical, random mix-songs'' The albums/songs are from a curated collection so to my tastes are all ''good'' and can be taken as suggestions. In the past I used to mention the track/tracks that I was listening to from each album but apparently that annoyed somebody so I stopped doing it.
As for the last one - I just purchased the download from LINN's website this morning and am listening to it as I type. So far it is very good (at $35 it better be) but I'm listening in passive mode (ie: doing repairs, cooking, dishes around the house).
If I wanted to show off my entire music collection I would simply cut/paste a list of every album/song I own.
Joe Bonamassa - Live at radio City Music Hall.
Continuing the blues rock "live" theme with this one ............. again, Joe, as ever, at his best, live ............ erm, still LOUD!!!
George Coleman - Amsterdam after dark.
A nice one by George Coleman. The title might suggest that this is recording of a concert in Amsterdam. it is not, it's a studio recording (recorded in New York).
George Coleman - Tenor Sax
Hilton Ruiz - Piano
Sam Jones - Bass
Billy Higgins - Drums
Malcolm Frager - Chopin
A + 3 | WAV
(2003)
A little from the excellent Simon Posford to mix things up a bit.
"Flock of Bleeps lacks the hard driving melodies found in his heavier work under the alias of Hallucinogen, and is more like the quieter soothing sounds of Schpongle. The beginning of this album is very ambient with sweeping synths, Indian incantations and mellow beats. Causing music induced rushes and euphoria. And the voices on this album are simply beautiful, allowing you to float away after enduring the pounding beats of a mad night. The music slowly progresses from it's ambient start onto funkier vibes with a climax of harder psy-trance."
First, Jack Johnson - On And On
.....next, Edie Brickell - Volcano
I know I am supposed to explain why, but I simply have no particular reason. I can recommend both albums though.
1984 - US pressing...
John Meyer - Heavier Things
Unabashed crowdpleaser.
Hendrix - People, Hell and Angels. CD-rip.
Lee Morgan - Vol. 3
Because it's so smooth.
Gary Clark Jr. - Live / North America 2016.
Continuing the whole blues / rock thing, (does this qualify?) ........... course it does ........ raw live blues from Gary.
Keeping the LOUD blues / rock thing going chez Dave, in an attempt to wean myself off Fink, on endless repeat here recently.
1st real run .....

This is the debut CD of Diana Krall. I like Diana Krall best when she performs medium to up tempo songs. Such as on this CD. There is also much room for her piano solo's (and that of the drummer and bass player).
Haven't heard that one. Might give a go. My D Krall collection seems to be rapidly expanding.
Because I haven't played any Ray L for a few weeks. I'm always stuck by the superb reproduction of this CD.
I went to Tidal to look for a different Mullova album, saw this, I love both Labeque and Mullova's playing, they play as a duo live fairly often, thought I'd give it a try, the Schubert is wonderful, a trip to the river and the Cd arrives tomorrow.
I've not played this for a while. It's a great album, beautifully played and recorded.
Cos I like 'em & saw them at Hammersmith in '83
Next up
Released 1996 after 13 years without playing together some very fine guitar work, some one on here said they were good and they are, honest - good quality too.

Fink - Hard Believer.
Well, that went well, didn't it? ................. much as I enjoyed Gary doing his thing, or is that "thang", here I am, once more, acquiring my
daily Fink fix.
I can give this up anytime I want .................... just choose life ................... how difficult can it be ......... yet ......... he is awfully addictive.
