- Red Mitchell - Bass
From allmusic.com
This is a bit of an unusual outing for Phil Woods, as Tommy Flanagan and Red Mitchell are his only musical partners for these 1981 sessions. The lack of drums enables the musicians to take a few extra liberties as they respond to one another. Woods is in top form, engaging his partners in a three-way conversation that seems effortless. His robust "Reet's Neet" benefits from Flanagan's fluid lines and Mitchell's potent bass, while Woods' touching ballad "Goodbye Mr. Evans," a tribute to the late pianist Bill Evans (who died a few months prior to these sessions), begins with a hauntingly beautiful piano solo, with Mitchell making a delayed entrance just prior to his solo and the composer waiting until just past the five-minute mark to add his emotional statement, which conveys his admiration for Evans' music. Flanagan's driving "Three for All" has a Latin undercurrent, with plenty of sparks flying among the players. Mitchell contributed three originals, including the loping ballad "It's Time to Emulate the Japanese," the lyrical "Talking," and the upbeat "You're Me," which features Woods on clarinet.
Benny Carter - Further Definitions.
One of Bennies finest. This album has the great swing feeling from long ago. Also very nice musicians on this recording (e.g. Coleman Hawkins, Phil Woods, Charlie Rouse).
1979 - LZ - In Through The Out Door.
There are five different versions of this album on Tidal.
-Original (single album)
-Remastered(single album)

Absolutely mental!
In the end I decided to play the original vinyl..
Beth Hart - Fire On The Floor
OK, this is a little more 'commercial' than Ms Hart's previous harder blues/rock offerings but she seems be be having fun on this one which I quite like.
Edie Reader - Edie Reader
Now here's a gal that always seems to be having fun when she sings and it's infectious and rather uplifting IMO.
A + 3 | WAV
(1980)
Another recent MFSL acquisition sounding mighty fine with a very cold one after yet another long, hard, hot day.
Bobby Jasper with George Wallington ...1957. Cd-rip
1973 - Vinyl - U.K. First pressing...
A + 3 | WAV
(1987)
Just because its one my favourite old Yello albums and it dances along so very nicely with the blue skies.

I don't think I have ever read a more glowing endorsement of a recording.
If I can let the material world intrude, this recording and a number of others by Ms Ferschtman are available at CD resolution on Qobuz for £7:99.
By the way, even Trump-hating liberals enjoy good music.

Vlad
The price of the CD, used or new, from the forum's favourite rainforest, is astronomical, sadly.
A pity. But I will keep an eye out for better prices in future
It's in the post to me from the UK rainforest for less than 5 pounds.
Me too now :-) I think i didn't look hard enough before ! Thanks for prodding me into searching again for it :-) :-)
Little Feat and Tedschi Trucks Band playing Spanish Moon.
On vinyl. LP12 is back in service after being moved for 2 weeks to make space to DAC evaluations
Their satanic majesties' second request - The Brian Jonestown Massacre
pretty amazing mid-60s stones pastiche. Enjoy!
David Russell - Renaissance Favorites.
I am in the mood for some classical guitar music. This one is by David Russell playing music from the Renaissance period. I am not an expert on this kind of music, I just enjoy it very much. David Russell uses a guitar on this recording (whereas most of the time a Lute is used to play these kind of music). Sound quality is very nice.

It is an outstanding album, Steve. And to think that he almost had Prince collaborating on it. It would have been a different album altogether.
Marcus Miller did an excellent job producing, arranging and performing. I strongly recommend his latest album Afrodeezia.
This is an amazing album, Emmy Lou's Tribute to Gram Parsons, She sings backup with the various groups at times. Starts with Chrissy Hin'nd and Pretenders doing a mellow SHE, Then Cowboy Junkies doong Ooh Las Vegas, that when I hit the remote to tripple the volume....
It was stolen many years back, recently saw it at Amoeba in LA, surprise was it also comes with the original album, a twofer that's bound to impress.
