Last year's thread can be found here;
1984 Japanese RCA CD release for USA market.
Terry Riley in C.
I find this kind of soothing and uplifting. I also have the Africa Express/Brian Eno version, which is well worth checking out.
Another early Japanese RCA CD. Eagerly anticipating the dame's version of "Three Steps to Heaven" (sorry, I mean "Queen Bitch")

Oh, go on. I've got this and while it sounds great the music's nothing to write home about.

OK, because it sounds great.
One of the few LC albums that was not well recived on its release however, it seems to have found an appreciating audience over the years Jarvis Cocker for one and me..
Original 1977 Vinyl 'Death Of A Ladies Man' produced by Phil Spector.
Because of her magnetism. I like Ive's music - smooth and nice.
“Ive’s voice is as smooth as coffee liqueur and glides effortlessly over a Brazilian backdrop. Pure heaven”.
What’s On London Magazine (UK)
“Dubbed the Brazilian Sade, Ive Mendes has already made a mark for herself in her home country, Spain and Asia. Her debut album features a collection of love songs in both English and Portuguese. The combination of her sultry personality and an incredible talent for writing and singing will surely win her plenty of fans over here too”.

1998 - Tidal...
Listening to Future Islands earlier led me to this....

Having been suitably impressed by Ewan's tip of this gentleman's EP - Juke Joint At The Edge of The World, I had a listen to this on Tidal and pretty fine it is too.
I agree. Now try The Bright Spots. Just fantastic.
2009 - Tidal...
Julie London - The best of on vinyl. This girl can sing. It is like having an old friend come to stay

First track has a bit of the Nashville sound to me.
from the Steven Wilson remix CD...one of my desert island albums!
Got home a couple of hours ago and stated with some Sean Rowe both Madman and New Lore which were recent purchases. Really enjoy Sean's voice, lyrics, and music. He is playing at the Sunset Tavern in Seattle on July 11th and hope to make it to the performance.

One of my favourite pieces of music and one which I have many versions of. But I always return to the original. For me the Africa Express version loses it's way after the vocal section.
A nice start of the morning. I always like the way Isabelle is playing the violin...

LOL - this album sleeve image reminds me of the cassette player in my first car. This was then always followed by the Bic biro challenge.
