What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Brad Mehldau - Blues and Ballads. CD rip.
Yet another of today's arrivals freshly ripped and sounding rather good from the NAS rather than as previously via Tidal.
Borders Nick, if I may suggest? I never tire of this music.

Haim - I did have a brief listen to one of his albums on Tidal (can't remember which one) following a flurry of recommendations on here late last year, but it didn't grab me at the time. I'll give your recommendation above a run though, if I can find it. Thanks.

Sadly, underrated in the Jock Rock genre ................ a great classic album, IMHO.
Steven Wilson - Hand, Cannot, Erase...
On signed vinyl...
On vinyl...
Some elements I like, but not yet completely sold...

Now for something totally different...
I used to struggle listening to this, to follow everything, so much going on.
Sounds great now with an upgraded LP12 & SC2!
This CD arrived today. This is the first time that I have ever heard this album. I remember now why I left Camel after Rain Dances. There are still signs of their progressive past, but really this is too much like pop music.

Brilliant album, Andy, and I agree it sounds even better on a top spec LP12!!
I don't think it's that different to, say, Steven Wilson. Try 'As Falls Wichita...' again and see if you agree.

Thanks Clive, I will give that another listen tomorrow!
Sounds Steven Wilson ish...?
This is the original album cover as released on the Blue Note label. It’s a very simple shot and yet a very powerful one. The original image was taken in 1947 by famed photographer Toni Frissell, and it’s called “Weeki Wachee spring, Florida”. As you can see by looking at the original, Blue Note saw fit to add not just that interesting (some might say cheesy) watery-looking font but a strong blue tint. This was a common practice of the label, and was usually done to great effect.

Started this morning with Tord Gustavsen. I prefer his trio setting.
During workout..
Paul McCartney. Wingspan: Hits and History. On 2CDs from 2001. Forty songs from the first 15 years of Macca's solo career (through 1984). CD1 is his popular hits/singles, but I really get into CD2 - quality album tracks that didn't necessarily get airplay.
