I hope Roger Waters channels all his bitterness into his records and that he's not like this in daily life.

A superb eponymous debut album, to label this folk music would be doing it a serious disservice.
"Recorded in their makeshift studio in an old boiler room at the foot of Mount Royal, the ten song album debut album was written over the course of the brother's time in a city full of strangers, lovers, old ghosts and new friends. Along with Sarah and Andres, the record also features Miles Perkin (Lhasa DeSela), Elizabeth Powell (Land of Talk), Nathan Moore, Jocie Adams (The Low Anthem), Elvis Perkins and Emma Baxter. It reads like a dusty journal of a traveler at the crossroads of good and evil. Hushed Americana lonesome and future-primitive delta blues clear the path for West African polyrhythms and classical motifs. It’s all tied together by the commitment to the sources of the styles and their inherent connections to each other."

Because this one reminds me of a certain very special someone in Montreuil - sur - Mer during the summer of 1990 while rebuilding the house there. To this day the memory still gives me goosebumps.
Will Ackerman - "Past Light" (1983)
My favourite TYA album. I really should play it more often.
Strawbs - "Bursting At The Seams" (1973)

Tha album title is so apt. My favourite of all Kate's albums. Streaming from a ripped CD.

Up until a few years ago if you suggested to me I would like this music I would have laughed. Yet thanks to this thread I've discovered this lady and have been utterly seduced by her voice and music.

A different mood, as the night lengthens.

Andy Bey - Ain't Necessarily So
Andy was another of the fine recommendations made on this forum. I found this and a few other of his albums on spotify (PC & headphones) and really enjoyed his music so ordered a few albums.
Love his voice, his piano playing combined with Peter Washington on bass, Kenny Washington on drums, and Vito Lesczak sitting in on drums for two song make this one fantastic album. The album was recorded 13 - 15 May, 1997 at Birdland in New York City.
Give it a listen, I don't think you will be disappointed.
