2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

What a great band Mel Thorme had during this performance.
Gorillaz - Gorillaz. Gorillaz - Demon Days.
Sounding especially pleasing here tonight ................. a couple of fun albums, well they always make me smile, at least.

Early Fairport. Superb version of 'Percy's Song' among other gems.
First play of this new purchase. I think I have Hungry Halibut to thank for this recommendation. It's lovely.
Leon Russell and the Shelter People ................. Leon's incredible gumbo of Southern Gospel, Soul, Rock 'n Roll and R 'n B.
Sadly missed, and, equally sadly, greatly underappreciated.

Having anther go at this after being unconvinced in the past. She has a good voice but I seem to remember growing bored so we'll have another go and see how we get on
First spin. John Hicks never received the proper recognition for his arrangements and playing.

A couple of classic tonight, CD rips:-
Paul Simon - Graceland
Yes - Fragile
1976 - Vinyl - Uk First pressing...
Art Pepper with Duke Jordan in Copenhagen 1981 - a live date at the Jazzhus Montmartre, 2CD rip. I wish they had recorded more, but Jordan was only sitting in for the (great and) regular George Cables on piano.
