2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Just changed it back to Ali G because there will be some very serious Frappage going down at Somerset House tomorrow night so I am just getting ready.
I will only be happy if Sid returns. Always put a smile on my face….
WAV CD rip. Mullova's a great violinist, her Vivaldi is lovely.
Mark Knopfle
Sailing To Philadelphia - Wave 24bit 48kHz
Next
All The Roadrunning - CD Rip
The gas engineer did not turn up, time for more from Mr Knopfler to calm me down.

Joe Bonamassa - Live at Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic Evening.
Joe's latest live album, and it's a cracker.
I'm still in a LOUD mood here this evening, so, as this is largely an acoustic adventure, I just had to Turn it UP!
My wife and I attended the concert in NYC. It was terrific.
Now enjoying this beautiful music, whilst I have the house to myself:
Yello - Flag.
Last of the high volume listening for this evening, as Loudness Wars are imminent, chez Dave, I fear.
This is the remastered album, with the full 13 minute version of "The Race" ............. bonkers, yet, brilliant.

Allison Moorer - Down to Believing
One of my favourite voices, but I've struggled a bit with this particular album and have hardly played it in the years I've owned it. Perhaps it's time to try it again.
By coincidence, I've just finished listening to a bunch of tracks from her best of 'The Ultimate Collection' . A Soft Place to Fall and Alabama Song both gorgeous and 'No Next Time' is a song everyone should hear.
Just waiting for her new release recorded with big Sister, Shelby Lynne ' Not Dark Yet' to hit the shops imminently...
Next up......
Leonard Cohen - Can't Forget: A Souvenir of the Grand Tour
I enjoy listening to Leonard quite a bit.

Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
Miles Davis (Trumpet), Wayne Shorter, Soprano Saxophone, Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock (Electric Piano), Joe Zawinui (Organ), John McLaughlin (Electric Guitar), Dave Holland (Bass), and Tony Williams (Drums)
Miles at his best, love this album. Just wonderful, a masterpiece, give it a listen.
This is the single CD version with a 38:08 play time, not the 3 CD The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions with a 210 minute playing time.
Thank you for posting, been a great fan of Miles for many years but dont have this one - on order now .
Just listening to Live at La Villet - Human Nature Jam - Kenny Garrett delivers one of the best sax solos Ive ever heard.

There's much to like about Kate's music but "the most singular, most prodigiously talented woman in the history of popular music"?????
I'd say that Hounds Of Love is her one true masterwork.
Well, yes. Can you name a woman who has overseen her work and career with such single-mindedness? She is, and always has been, responsible for the way her records sound, and the way her videos and stage shows look.
Who else has created, and consistently expressed, a unique world out of her fecund imagination?
She is a breathtakingly original songwriter, a fantastic pianist; in her youth, a wonderfully expressive dancer; and on her day, a brilliant, intense and insightful lyric writer.
I mean, she wrote "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" aged 13. Thirteen! Can you name anyone else, male or female, who's written a song at such a tender age, so beyond their years?
I don't like everything she's done, and her work is often patchy, but I can't deny either the depth and breadth of her talent, or its extreme rarity.
John Martyn - One World.
And .................... relax.
Turning the volume down for this, from the master of late night listening .................... nighty night.
1975 - Vinyl - U.K. first pressing...

Big grin in the NigelB household. Cheered me up on a rainy day. Cheers Kevin.
Up next...... in the mailbox when I got home
Agnes Obel - Philharmonics
Agnes writes and arranges the music, writes the lyrics, plays and sings, mixes and produces the albums. Beautiful voice, talented musician, I enjoy her music.
The Presidents Of The United States Of America. Eponymous debut on CD from 1995. One of those bands that put out a fantastic debut album but could never find the magic on subsequent releases.
Something mellow to start the day. I think this is probably my favourite out of all my Goldfrapp albums as It reminds me a lot of Felt Mountain which first introduced me to their music.
Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree
Following James' lead above, some Frapp on CD to fortify me for my forthcoming journey on Southern railway... I'll need it
Mozart Requiem - insula orchestra/Choeur Accentus, rel. 2014. 24/44.1 flac. Nice performances and acoustic.
Superb.
A+3|24/44.1 WAV
(2015)
This one is going down nicely on this warm, sunny afternoon.
Simon & Garfunkel - Bookends. 24/192 flac. 2014 remaster.
