2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Neon Logic . Another day wasted.
superb esoteric idm.
Given the significance of today, it seems appropriate to continue with Handel. I've always liked Manze, and his readings here are spot on I think. On CD:

Ive actually had Matthew & Son going around in my head this afternoon, so I'm playing that and I Love My Dog before going on to TFTT, an album I rarely play these days.

One of the first Lps I bought! It was pressed in Kingston Jamaica and is still going strong. (The first was Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme by S&G. Again pressed in JA and still in near perfect condition even after years of enjoyment.) I was and still am young!

Lutyens, we must be from a similar fine ageless vintage or perhaps its because my original stomping grounds were the same as yours the bandit country of Saaaarf London?
Here we go again!! I am listening to the Lion King's theme song.
Ferenc Snetberger - In concert
On a download (legitimately I hasten to add). Not my favourite medium.

ian hunter 30th anniversary edition - CD Rip
Listen to Mark Jeeves on Planet Rock's "The long Player Show" last night 8pm to midnight for the first time, the music was some of the best that i have ever heard on Planet Rock.
One song stood out for me "Boy" (long version) by Ian Hunter from his self titled album, had a listen to the album this morning on TIDAL, i had to have this album so after having my breakfast i headed into HMV in Glasgow and bout the album, got home and ripped to my nas, Brilliant album, i am now on my second play of this album today. This is the first time i have ever heard an Ian Hunter solo album in my life.
Mark Jeeves and Planet Rock's "The long Player Show" is new to me but i will be listen to this show every Sunday night from now on, it and TIDAl are going to cost me a fortune.

Mike Oldfield, Music Of The Spheres on CD.
This is rather wonderful.
I have picked up a few Oldfield CD's recently and am enjoying that he is not just about Tubular Bells, which never really did it for me. I may have to revisit that one as I have not heard it for many years.

Simon, you have reminded me to try out some of his more recent work, to be honest I didn't bother with anything after Ommadawn (1975) although I recently acquired and have yet to listen to his Return To Ommadawn.

Prompted by Slim68 earlier and giving this a go on Tidal and yes, it's most definitely something by Mike Oldfield.
