The Allman Brothers Band - Tidal HiFi
First time ever listing to an allman brothers band album, only studio album on tidal.
Edward
There are two different mixes of this album out there.

A gap in my education - I had never listened to this classic 1972 performance before today. High-res flac, on DVD-R.

IMHO this is the best version of the Opera that I have heard.
Blue Mitchell - The thing to do
Original vinyl
Why? Slightly more tenuous Scottish connection (singer Ricky Warwick) but hey, it rocks.

Possibly my favourite trumpet player.

I had to follow on and what a last album this was from the man.

My first run through with this collection from the old prog'ers ripped CD 1 for now.
this is so spooky Steve, I had this in my hands as a purchase yesterday - as you say, curious to hear how it sounds after quite a number of years. Followed by:
one that divides opinion; the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end... I remember getting this from a guy at work who got it from a record club: bad move, warped to buggery, watching the stylus as the LP turned either made you feel seasick or like you were on a merry go round!
Paul, TLLDOB was a favourite of many Genesis fans but as you say divided opinion. I liked them all the way through from the Peter Gabriel days to about '77 after which they became too commercial and 'poppy' for my tastes at the time. Your story of the warped LP made me chuckle reminding me of my Groundhogs album Split that my brother carelessly left on a window ledge in the sun. To say I was horrified is an understatement.
Not sure why but I have been playing BJH last week or so, revisited a Time Honoured Ghosts and a few others like Octoberon. Underated for their time IMO.

Nice one Gazza, sometimes I guess we get the itch and earworm to play certain music. By the way (from your profile) my Atom is absolutely wonderful in a nearfield 2nd system and is capable of far more than that, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. As for your Nova desire, I share that and may well swap out my trusty Superuniti for it, enjoy the trip.
Steve
Thanks Steve, can,t wait to get my hands on my Nova, though at the Signals Ipswich open day I listened to Atom , Star and Nova, they were all great. Played Abraxas by Santana thru Atom and some PMC floorstanders, happy days.

Very interesting and rather hypnotic. It is wonderful how this group of musicians manage to blend African a Celtic music seamlessly. It shouldn't work, but is does. Exciting stuff.

I can only imagine how good the Nova is going to be (I've not heard it) but given my Superuniti (5 year ownership) and recent Atom experience, It's probably going to be a great one box system it and quite a step up from the Superuniti. Happy days indeed.
Steve
It was a toss up between this and Pink Floyd 'Echoes'. It's been a while since I last played this. Eric Clapton is mixed well forward in the mix, but for once turns in some creative solos.
An album I've enjoyed for very many years.
On vinyl
Great remaster
2017 - Tidal...
Mainly for the old Will Bradley track Down the Road Apiece.
Brian Eno with John Hopkins & Leo Abrahams - Small craft on a milk sea
It's been too long.
2017 - Tidal...
Their 18th album since their debut in 1977. Good ol' rockers...
