What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Feel compelled to flag this gem.
my 552 I think recently passed some major burn-in roadblock and gone to a whole new plane of music recreation, so I'm now deep in that old 'rediscover your record collection' mode.
I've always liked this album (Gate Swings by Clarence Gatemouth Brown), a Gitanes Jazz label recording of an old school Blues musician doing a Jazz/Swing album with a superb big band but can't have played it in decade I reckon. Seeking inspiration I'm using the 'albums' search mode on the Naim app and trying 'G' albums - a great way to refresh your memory of what you haven't listened to for ages.
Exemplary musicianship, exemplary recording. Pure joy.
Great music and a beautiful recording which shows just how good Red Book can be.
Sara K - Hell Or High Water
Trawl through 'G' albums continues...
Steve Earle, Guitar Town.
'My old friend the Blues' (gonna get on my J45 and work this out tomorrow) & 'Someday' . Real gems both.
..and with 'G' albums you come to all the Greatest Hits compilations..
staying with the Steve Earle vibe and harking back to surely a big influence on him..
Hank Williams

2016 - Vinyl...
Gin Blossoms and their debut album because I felt the urge to listen to Hey Jealousy. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
Vangelis, Blade Runner, red vinyl audio fidelity remaster 2013: silent hiss-free blacks apes and souring melodies as only the master of the synths can do. Having a bit of a synth moment: great for late-night as it works at any sound level, like Gregorian chant or Chopin Nocturnes.

Now that convinced me I was having a Senior Moment, because I'd have sworn that to listen to (the entirely wonderful) Hey Jealousy I'd be playing New Miserable Experience (a bitter-sweet album as it's brilliant but overshadowed by the sad death of Doug Hopkins).
As it turns out I'm not completely senile yet as it's on both!

Yes, they recorded it when they took off so it's on both, which is no bad thing becuase it's a wonderful song
1973 - Vinyl - UK pressing...
His debut and best album. Great line up including Ron Carter and a very young and talented Tommy Bolin.
Solo piano, recorded in 2006 shortly before his death.
Gin Blossoms. New Miserable Experience. On CD from 1992. Per Gary's and dayjay's posts, thought I'd give this a spin. Sure enough, 'Hey Jealousy' is track 2. Good album, well mastered.

Steve Roach's recent release of something he recorded back in '82 when he was still heavily influenced by European electronic music and Klaus Schultz.

2010 - Vinyl box set...
Compromised by the record company demands of a more pop "sound", it can get a little tiring at times but Alison's voice just about makes up for it.
Count Basie - Golden Years compilation. Because it is the easiest way to get his sublime late smaller group stuff.
Bobo Stenson - Cantando. CD rip. Today's arrival. Lovely stuff.
Beautiful music by the Branford Marsalis quartet

I'm a big Goldfrapp fan but i just can't love this album like the others
Such a lovely voice - there is something so warm and comforting about listening to this album.
