What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Lizz Wright - The Orchard
Second listen to this gorgoeus album by an artist I am ashamed to say is new to me. Discovered on here (Ewemon again I think - cheers buddy) and further explored by seakayaker revealed this particular album by this lady who I think has a wonderful voice. All the tracks on here are interesting and ultimately involving.
What a find!
Now Playing......
Stanley Jordan - Magic Touch
After a mention from Jeroen20 and Bert above, I thought I would give Stanley a listen.
He can certainly play the guitar......

That's a great album despite the dodgy cover. Must give it a spin sometime.

Saw it on here earlier. Hot stuff.

Robert Wolf: guitar, oud, bouzouki, quanun, cümbüs

A great choice! In my mind it's an absolutely classic rock album but, sadly unappreciated by the wider public.

It's our little secret, Steve.
Well Tony, it's yours, Steve's and Smashie and Nicey's:
This LP
Now playing......
Fred Simon - Dreamhouse

There's more to BTO than You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet, Kev.
I met Harry a couple of times and he was a jolly nice chap just like these two above!
Same here Seakayaker, I needed a quiet afternoon, I was reading the Cactus and Succulent Journal with Botanists finding little known species. One deciphering why a collapse of Puyas In the Chilean andes and another Canadian doing research in the San Juan Islands takes a sboat out to a small Island to find Opuntia frangilis hanging in rock crevices above high tide splash zones that is realted to fragilis from the great plains where bufullo roam.
I kinda feel left out of big events, but Ellington is superb, late works showing the the young turks he's still in the game.
Something about my fingers or my brain or could it be computer goblins screwed i[ spelling
2016 - Vinyl...
Laura Gibson - Empire Builder.
Now Playing.....
Fred Simon - Since Forever
Fred Simon (piano), Paul McCandless (soprano saxophone, oboe, English horn, bass clarinet, duduk), Steve Rodby (acoustic bass), Mark Walker (drums, percussion)
Another wonderful album, into the fourth track and find it completely relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered after a day at work. A very nice review of the album can be found here on the all about jazz website.
CD1
Now playing......
Enya - Dark Sky Island (Deluxe)
Why - request from the wife.....and when she's happy, I'm happy......
......besides I love Enya!
Now Playing......
Enya - A Day Without Rain
Let me repeat myself......

Now Playing.......
Fred Simon - Remember The River
Fred Simon (piano), Paul McCandless (soprano saxophone, oboe, english horn, bass clarinet, penny whistle), Steve Rodby (acoustic bass)
Why - I enjoyed both 'Dreamhouse' and 'Since Forever' earlier today and found them both to be very relaxing. Since this may be the last album prior to heading off to bed, the choice was an easy decision.

I bought this via Qobuz a month or so ago, and when playing it one afternoon, noticed a few 'glitches' in one of the tracks. I think it was Disc 2 Track 3 ?
I re-downloaded it, same problem - contacted Qobuz and got a free download ! - Great service
It is an enjoyable listen nonetheless
Thanks for calling it out. Didn't realize it - but have the same issue. Have also contacted Qobuz support....
They did say they were going to remove it from sale ??!!!
They normally do react ok to the people who claim, however they never have taken away albums which didn't work for me. Had the issue a couple of times before where the download at such didn't happen as they had no underlying files, and they didn't remove it even although they said so......., so always watch when the individual songs in the webpage show 0 seconds of time, they don't have the files behind it - even if the selling process works......

By listening now again to Evgeny Kissin, I realize how good he is. I will ensure that I fill the gaps in my collection with his performances.
