What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
I too like Lagavullin, but don't have any in the house currently (it's too damn expensive), just Glenmorangie and Tallisker. Coffee for me though tonight as I enjoy some intelligent female rock from Aimee Mann.
CD Rip, the Divine Comedy played Cropredy Festival last week, I knew all the words, but didn't have any albums, I must have listened a lot at someone else's place. Picked this and a couple of others s/hand on the river, clever lyrics in very music-hall style eccentric arrangements.
Don Henley, Cass County. A guy with a pessimistic view of the World, but a faultless songwriter and heartfelt vocals.

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers, & Jimmy Cobb
Downloaded the Hi Res 192/24 version of this album. Just fantastic, wow!
Hmm, I see this is also available in SACD, I might just have room for one more copy...
CD.

Just finished......
Billie Marten Writing of Blues and Yellows
.....a lovely album!

Miles Davis- Sketches of Spain - 50th Anniversary (Legacy Edition)
Streaming from tidal and from the notes:
This delightful pairing brings together Miles Davis' 'Round About Midnight album, which was recorded between October 1955 and September 1956 and introduced John Coltrane as part of Davis' quintet, and the masterful Sketches of Spain, recorded between November 1959 and March 1960, in one package. Dedicated Davis fans will already have both of these releases, however, and most likely in the later editions that included bonus tracks, so this is a set best serving an introductory listener, but wow, what a wonderful world to be introduced to. Welcome to Miles country. ~ Steve Leggett

Vince Gill - When Love Finds You
Why - reading about ripping CD's to a NAS today. I had been using FLAC as the default and read that NAIM prefers WAV.....So Vince was next in line and I am listening to him via a WAV file, now I have to plan to RIP again as a FLAC or convert the WAV to a FLAC. I am so new to this streaming with the ND5 with a NAS, miles to go before I sleep or miles to go before I get a lot better of understanding all this!
During workout.......
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach - Magnificat
Still in a Scott kinda mood, here's his underrated 1970 album on a 1999 CD:
I think I have a mild addiction to Nina Simone !! Lovely Album , I don't have much knowledge of Duke Ellington but that may change now after this purchase .
Stanley Jordan - Standards volume 1
This is Stanley Jordan playing unaccompanied guitar. In my opinion that's when he is at his best.
Talk of The Blue Nile on another thread in the Music Room prompted me to drag out my 1983 original Linn pressing of A Walk Across The Rooftops; and a very fine album it is too:
Chiaroscuro Quartet - Death and The Maiden on R3
