2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;

1971 - Live double vinyl - U.K. First pressing.... Listening to May led me to this one. There's a link somewhere in there...
1967 - vinyl - Mono / U.K. First pressing...
On CD (Deluxe edition). Soulful R&B. Superbly recorded and great performances
Dire Straits, Dire Straits on vinyl. MK at his best.

Wynton Kelly / Wes Montgomery - Smokin' at the Half Note. A few people hollered 'Wes'! From 1965 with the Wynton Kelly Trio. The 2005 re-issue, with a couple of extra tracks. CD-rip.
A long evening of listening to Karajan's Parsifal in its entirety. This remains a stunning performance. On CD.
Cheers

Now Playing......
Steven Wilson - To the Bone
Why - Its Friday Night after a long week......
Need to start off with something loud and this is fitting the bill. Have not heard this album yet and it is not disappointing after listening to the first two tracks. Thank you Steve!
Thanks to Nigel66 and others who previously mentioned 'To the Bone'
Now Playing.....
U2 - The Joshua Tree (Remastered)
Why -- Friday evening and trying to blow away the work week with something loud and familiar this time.
(I did thoroughly enjoy Steve Wilson)
Now Playing......
Natalie Merchant - Retrospective 1900 - 2005
Why - A mention from ewemon above put Natalie on my mind and did a search on Tidal and thought I would give 'Retrospective' a spin....
Whether this exceptional album is jazz with its roots in bluegrass or vice versa doesn't matter, because whatever it is, it works -- wonderfully. Fleck is joined by his jazz friends (Chick Corea and Branford Marsalis) as well as his progressive bluegrass pals (Sam Bush, Tony Rice, and Jerry Douglas), plus members of his usual backing band, the Flecktones (Victor Wooten and Future Man). The resulting performances should pique the interest of curious listeners across any number of genres.(AllMusic)
Now Playing......
Béla Fleck - Tales From The Acoustic Planet
Thanks Haim for the mention. The musicians names, Chick Corea (piano), Branford Marsalis (tenor saxophone) and Sam Bush (mandolin) certainly caught my eye. Then seeing there was Paul McCandless (alto sax), Bruce Hornsby (piano), Kenny Malone (drums), and so many others playing on this album. This certainly "pique the interest" for myself to give this album a listen.
On the fourth track at the moment and throughly enjoying the music.

Where did you download this from? I'm not sure what format to buy this in. I would like the vinyl version, but I've been scarred by lousy quality of new vinyl (although I realise he's moved to a new label, which might help). A FLAC download might be the safest solution.

Clive, if you subscribe to Qobuz sublime then you can get this in 24/96 for under £9, otherwise it's £15.59 or £11.59 for the 16/44.1

Thanks, Steve. I don't subscribe to Qobuz Sublime, but I'll have a go at the 24/96 download tomorrow.
