2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
On CD:-
Delaney & Bonnie - Home
1980 original UK RCA pressing:
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird.
I know others have posted this recently. One of my favourite discoveries of 2016.
Eva will ease your mind.
Agnes Obel is a new discovery for me, and I'm liking this album a lot. Will certainly be trying out earlier records, hopefully they're as good.

A good album from a good Canadian rock band, anyone that enjoys their rock music should enjoy this. Almost seventies in style there are influences and undertones of big name bands from that era going on here.
Todays listening whilst prepping an painting a large room.
Van Morrison - "Keep It Simple" (2008)
Japan - Tin Drum.
I was sorting through some racks of vinyl and pulled out this one on original wafer thin Virgin vinyl. Hmmm... haven't listened to this in many years... A quick check and I see that I don't have this on CD. So, I give it a spin on the Loricraft Garrard and hook up my Sony PCM-M10 recorder to record it in 24bit 96kHz for my drive up to Bentley later in the week. Oh yes... this takes me back to my school days. And I'd also forgotten just what a great little recorder the Sony is/was. It's win win for Japan..

Indeed, Kev. One of my favourites by mr Jones. I bet that pressing is wicked. Can I borrow it?
2016 - Double vinyl...
David Bowie - Who Can I be know ? - FLAC 192kHz
earlier: Diamond Dogs
now: David Live
Zero 7 - "The Garden" (2006)
Time for some Angel Olsen. This is her second album and the production is quite sparse compared to My Woman. An excellent album though with a more intimate sound.

The vinyl, to me, sounded bizarrely muddy - and I *love* DD...
1975 - Double vinyl...

One of the very good new albums released last year.
Always nice to listen to, swing, modern, puts a smile on your face type of jazz...
