I've not seen the BBC doc, so will check it out on the iPlayer.

I'd recorded this at the time of transmission, but, sadly, it's no longer available via BBC iPlayer, though the Beeb does currently have a pretty good "Artists" page on the band.

Hopefully, a troll through t' internet will turn it up somewhere.

A favorite Schubert piece

A more recent performance with Janine Jansen:

Oh pants! Ah well, I'll keep a look out on the listings. BBC4 are pretty good at repeating their own back catalogue!

This forum is dangerous for an ever expanding music collection - just ordered "Vanishing Point" on Music Magpie. Thought I had that CD, but must have been lent out at some point.

(2000)

In anticipation of Shpongle's new album a recently "found" EP of theirs discovered and downloaded from bandcamp, Simon Posford and Raja Ram on scintillating form. Highly recommended mmm.

Anna Tsybuleva (piano):  Fantasien

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788):  Fantasie in f-sharp minor H.300
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827):  Phantasie Op. 77
Franz Schubert (1797-1828):  Fantasy in C major 'Wanderer-Fantasie' D.760
Johannes Brahms (1833-1897):  Fantasien Op. 116

Anna Tsybuleva is the recent winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition 2015.  I like the idea of this program being based on the theme of Fantasien.  It is also a good excuse to hear the CPE Bach and Beethoven works which strangely one doesn't hear this works enough of.  While not bad, I am not a big fan of Champs Hill.  This disc could be improved on if it would have the sound of a Gramola recording or the like.

Shelby Lynne & Allison Moorer - Not Dark Yet

A mention by DAV301earlier got my attention, I never listened to Shelby & Allison and thought I would take this album out for a spin......

Seen this one and I was interested. What's your verdict ?

I enjoyed this album quite a bit, lead me to more.... Then I listened to 'Shelby Lynne - I Can't Imagine' and I needed to hear more.....

When I listened to this the 'Shelby Lynne - Just A Little Lovin' album I became a true believer.  It is a fantastic album and really worth the time to listen.

Remembering Grant Green (featuring Wilbur Ware & Al Harewood)

Saw this mentioned by ewemon yesterday and it attracted my attention and wanted to give it a listen.

Haven't listened to this one in ages. HH mentioned them earlier today in a different thread and here I go down into the time tunnel. On Burning Rome vinyl.

A Deeper Understanding,

Brilliant Follow up to "Lost In The Dream"  will definitely be buying this album.

Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed - from the mono boxset.

The Stones at their loosest and bestest, a natural follow up to Primal Scream from earlier this evening.

Only Echoes Remain, The Exigent via Tidal.

A wonderful piece of instrumental storytelling, I like this a lot.

Rolling Stones - Blue & Lonesome.

Just some old guys, doing some old skool r 'n b ...................... they've never been better.

   Erm, ................... quite LOUD!

Never would have guessed it, since these are certainly not Mozart's best known works, but staggeringly beautiful performance. Really spectacular disk. Available as a high-res download from the best classical-music label in the planet.

Steve Rothery, The Ghosts Of Pripyat, WAV CD Rip.

Another instrumental album, this one with 7 tales to tell.

Nostalgia rules tonight. Going back to some 80's classics. I started here. Such a tragedy they lost James Honeyman Scott so early in their career.

The seeds of love by Tears for Fears. Forgot what a good recording this is. And Oleta of course. A very grown up album for a pop outfit...
