Getting back to my youth. I only found out recently that People Records in Guildford, which shut earlier this year, was run by Howard Smith the drummer of The Vapours.

Why? Why not!

Is it worth around 40 euros when you already have the albums in CD quality ?

Bert do you mean if you have the 12 CD box set? If so I would say yes, I think 40 euros for the 12 album hi-res mono re-master is well worth it.

I didn't mean the same set in mono I have some of the last remastered stereo versions. As I am an occasional Stones fan it would need to be quite an uplift in experience for me to buy it, but your initial answer seems to be clear - thanks.

OK Bert, I understand you now. If you are just an occasional 'Stones listener then perhaps it would not be worth your while investing. However for me the Mono remasters are a great to listen to as Mono was how I very first heard these early albums of theirs and these sound as good if not better than I remember the original vinyl but then again my failing memory plays terrible tricks!

Joni Mitchell - Blue

One of the many great albums she's made over the years.

Brilliant pop was mentioned so it led to this.

His first album and for me still his best. I have this for many years and it never ceases to surprise me that as my system's resolution abilities have increased so I find new complexity and detail in this album. He must have taken extraordinary care in creating it.

Jakob Bro - Balladeering

Jakob Bro - Balladeering

I enjoyed listening to the Trilogy of Balladeering, Time, & December Song eight days ago I ordered the CD's online from Denmark and they arrived here at the house this afternoon.  Great album! Fantastic musicians!

Lovely review/write up here on All About Jazz.

excerpt: Great music gives great expectations. When it was announced that Danish guitarist Jakob Bro was going on tour with the core of players responsible for the musical magic on his trilogy: Balladeering (Loveland Records, 2009), Time (Loveland Records, 2011) and December Song (Loveland Records, 2013), it was a promise of a singular opportunity to encounter the chemistry between some of the most interesting musicians in modern jazz and a living legend, alto saxophonist Lee Konitz.

It was Konitz who poignantly named the first album Balladeering as an expression for a kind of music that resides somewhere between the slow beauty of a ballad and the wondrous act of instantaneous improvisation........
